Publisher's Summary

Peyton
I was having a cold coffee with my best friend Vivian when the whole world went upside-down.
Now there are gazelle-glowing-like-a-light-bulb aliens running around eating everybody, and enormous dark purply-colored aliens that have a strong resemblance to bats, dive bombing from the sky.
One of the bats says I'm his and I need to ease his mating rage. Yeah, not happening.
Except, they tell me the fate of my world comes down to me sacrificing myself to him. Maybe this won't go like I planned. But I figure, if I have to bend to the big guy's will, I'm damn well getting something out of it.

Tahk
My Pythe is a human.
Weak as they are, I cannot fathom how she was chosen for me. The Commander of all Dahk.
But then she rises up for her species and I cannot help but notice her firece heart.
I will slaughter all who dare harm her and her species, and she will be mine.

*Warning: For listeners 18 years and older. Contains explicit sexual situations, possible triggers, dark themes, and violence. Start of a series featuring these characters and multiple others, but do not fret, Happy Endings all around!

stick with it gets really good

the narration is excellent.
the first half of this book is average and i found one of the character's as unnecessary and really annoying but stick with it, it gets really good and the next book is fantastic. i love the entire series and have just burnd through all of them. one of the best things about this book is all the adult character's act like adults, even the really annoying guy. theres no stupid misunderstanding that turn into chapters of teen angst. she has her feelings which are all justified she either deals with them on her own or talks to who she needs to like an adult. its very refreshing.
the world building is really good everything is explained without bogging you down with info that you will just forget and it really sets up the next book. if you like romance and sicfi definitely worth it.

Don't waste your credit

Peyton was really annoying. i tried to get to the end but just couldn't. Actually all the humans were annoying.

I didn't like the narrator at all.

Best Part Was The Comedy Bits....

I couldn't finish. I loathe stories in which the female protagonist gives her self away to immediately to an unworthy male (who just forced sex on her, told her humans mean nothing, treated her friends like crap, manhandled her, etc. A female may eventually give into her captor but willingly within one day of capture under those circumstances is utterly ridiculous. I can suspend belief for a good story but it has to be written well. I couldn't finish.

Great story

I am new to this author and narrator and really enjoyed the story. What I did not like was the cliffhanger ending to find out what happens to Tahk and Peyton as a couple. The supporting characters are great. I am invested in this story so I hope book two will come to Audible. The narration was pretty good if not exaggerated with Tahk's voice. He was pretty good with the female voices. I enjoyed this book so much, I would highly recommend it.

Excellent Narrator. Promising Story line

The narrator is amazing! The story is good, funny sometimes. I had to laugh so hard at the human language as heard from the allien side. This is funny to me since I am also trying to improve my english and most of the time english sounds exactly like the narrator immitates the alliens perpective... :-)
The logic is a bit off. I couldnt see any logic in why those technologically superior species is chewing on people. Food? They just take a bite and leave the rest of the body? What is their motive? Also they have no weapons?
Two technologically highly evolved species fight like barbarians on the ground.
As for humans... With all the guns, automatic weapons in Idaho. Nobody fights the white alliens?
Some terms that is used for human behavior and human body parts is hillarious. loved that!

Just ok

I think I really could have liked this book more if the human characters weren't so annoying. They made idiotic decisions, whined (Vivian) entirely too much and basically made what could have been a five star book into more of a 2 1/2 stars. If you're looking for a book that has potential and you can ignore the stupidity and whining, you might actually enjoy this book. If you, like me, like your human characters to have a little backbone, then save your credit and move on.

Oh my the cliff hanger!

OMG this book exceeded my expectations and I'm so pleased that I decided to listen to this. Not only is it a very sexy story but also thrilling and shocking in many ways. This author pushes the envelop and draws you in. The cliffhanger had me screaming OMG but I can't wait for the next book! Thank you for writing this!!!

good

I love the book series that this author has, but even better if she also added a female narrator in to the parts were played with Peyton but over all to good book and the male narrator was good.
