Publisher's Summary

Lifelong friends and co-owners of a thriving business, but what if they could have more?

Omega, Harland, has been in love with Coop since they were kids. Working side by side with him in the vet clinic they co-own is sweet torture. If he had one hint that his feelings were returned, he’d be all over the alpha like there was no tomorrow. But confessing could mean losing his best friend, and it’s not a risk he’s willing to take. He’ll find a way to get over Coop…somehow.

Coop knows he’s just the man for his best friend…but if he’s wrong he’ll lose everything and he’d rather have Harland’s friendship than nothing at all. But when a new intern shows up and starts flirting with Harland, Coop can’t hide it anymore. Harland is his.

After decades of friendship, can they really take their relationship to the next level? Or will the shift be too much and leave them both lonelier than ever before?

Best friends to best lovers

I think there’s something magical and enchanting when it comes to friends to lovers stories. And it’s because I like slow-burn, chase-run, pull-tag chemistry between MCs. And I really enjoyed listening this one.

Harland and Coop are in love with each other and have been friends for all their lives. But both of them are afraid that they’d lose each other if they confess their feelings. They needed a catalyst to realize their true emotions and a new assistant in the vet clinic was exactly what they needed. Coop knew he has to be brave if he wants Harland to become more than just his best friend and now he’s not afraid anymore to pursue is true love.

A bit frustrating at times because of how clueless these two men is but they are so adorable together. I like how sweet and fluffy these two are. I also enjoyed the narration of Aleks Esquire although he’s totally a new-to-me narrator. All in all, a very cute listen.

Awesome narrator - frustrating but good story!!!

Aleks Esquire was a new narrator for me and I enjoyed his narration very much. He did a wonderful job with the characters voice and attitudes.

A friend-to-lovers love story with some angst situations and communication issues. Harland and Coop both have feelings for each other but they don't want to jeopardize their friendship they just need to take a chance on love.

This was a good audiobook but the story was frustrating for me personally I don't like my main characters to be that hard headed to where I almost don't want to finish a book. All in all this was a good story and the narrator was awesome.

So much drama, so little talking

I found the first half or so of the story repetitive as Coop and Harland have the same thoughts and actions over and over again with no sign of an honest conversation between them. It picked up towards the end, but this frankly felt tedious to listen to. The performance was okay, though I noticed instances where the voices weren’t consistent, pronunciation was off, or the inflection didn’t seem right. It was entertaining enough to have playing while I did other things, but this is one I probably won’t listen to again.

Clueless friends to HEA lovers

I enjoyed this best friends to lovers story quite a bit for a few reasons, 1) we get views into how the veterinary clinic is run and I always enjoy a story that takes me inside the characters' business, 2) cute animals because of the setting, 3) from my years of reading good fanfiction, I enjoy the clueless, pining friends to lovers set up, and 4) I enjoy a story where an interested third party makes our MCs realize what they want from each other. Aleks Esquire was a new narrator for me and I enjoyed his narration very much. His timbre reminds me a bit of Michael Ferraiuolo, one of my favorite narrators. I have read both authors' contemporary books and their dragon shifter series and they can be counted on to give me characters I want to know more about, angst without darkness and an HEA.

Wonderful!!

A sweet love story, with some angst situations, a lot of hot scenes and puppies. I enjoyed a lot all this slow dance between Coop and Harland trying to evolved from friends to lovers and how the author managed all the “obstacles” for them to overcome. In addition Mr Esquire made a nice profesional performance making a wonderful job with the characters’ voice and attitudes. Loved it!

A classic friends to lovers story

I liked the storyline but is it a must that the MC’s be this clueless? Lol. Worse is the excuses they make but the ending was lovey and I did enjoy it. Narrator was lovely too.

Enjoyable listen

Puppy Love by Jill Haven & Austin Bates is the second book in the Career Men series but stands alone without causing confusion to reader. It is a sweet contemporary m/m romance with a friend to lovers theme and an mpreg. Cooper and Harland's story had some drama, frustration and angst... but there was a great amount of humor and romance as well. A very enjoyable story overall.

The narrator is Aleks Esquire. Great job with voicing the characters and giving them life. Clear recording made for entertaining listen.

Entertaining

As much as this should have been perfect for me, it just didn't get there. I spent too much time outside of the story anguishing between the two MC's and how one was so clueless and the other was such an egomanic. It kept me engaged because I was eagerly awaiting the moment they would just give in and tell the truth. All in all, it entertained me. I probably wouldn't listen again, though.

Friends to lovers who couldn’t be more clueless

I liked this story but at times found Harland and Coop a bit frustrating. How can they be so blind? How can they smell pheromones and other things about each other, but not the attraction? There was a roller coaster of emotions for the two best friends basically the entire story. Harland and Coop had great chemistry, just lacked communication.

Aleks Esquire did a decent job. He changes the voices for each character, though they weren’t always consistent.

Delightful

This is the second book in The Career Men Series. I would read/listen the first book before this one. A delightful book with good writing. The plot was entertaining and it was steady throughout the book. I found the story and characters charming. The characters were developed and thought out. Harland and Coop are the MC’s of this book. I can recommend this book as a good read/listen. I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book for an honest review.

Good easy read

This was a good, easy listen with low levels of angst, and a lot of sweetness. I feel the narration added much to the story, as there were times it just seemed very predictable. That being said, it was still a great story and one that gets you right in the feels.

Cute and fluffy

I absolutely adored this sweet friends to lovers story.
Harland and Coop have secretly been in love with each other, neither one willing to take a chance for fear of losing each other's friendship completely.
There waw plenty of miscommunications on both sides which had me wanting to shake some sense into both of them.
The narrator is new to me but they did a great job of drawing you in and keeping you invested.

Best friends to lovers

I really enjoyed both Coop and Harland but oh my goodness were they completely oblivious to the each other’s feelings. I know neither wanted to ruin their friendship but it was to the extent I was almost shouting at them in my head to finally get their act together.

Overall I enjoyed the story - it was sweet and adorable, and the narration was very well done (my first by this narrator - and I’d definitely listen to more).
