About this listen
As a divorced single father, I live by three rules:
- Make sure every day my daughter, Paisley, knows she’s number one in my life. No matter what.
- Keep contact with my cheating ex-wife to a minimum.
- Turn Maxwell Wineries into a legacy that keeps Paisley set for life.
When I hire Lexi to look after my daughter, I realize I need another rule: Don’t pursue Paisley’s nanny.
But even if I had that rule it wouldn’t matter. Because I'm breaking it already.

The heroine became so off-putting. A lot of this was the story itself. The combination of this an the gushy, sighing delivery was not for me. It came across more as teen with a crush.
The story was repetitive and unnecessarily detailed at times., like going through each step of her make-up routine. There was so much gush and swooning and sounded very immature from someone supposed to be a teacher in her early thirties.
Then there were the frequent sighing about him being an alpha male.
This term seems to be overused anyway. Here it seems lovingly protective, and being possessive, directing and jealous are confused. Fortunately it was at a mild level compared to most others.
She constantly wants him to take charge like a Daddy figure... where have women come to??? Again, unsurprising in someone who seems stuck in little girl mode.
Look, obviously many liked it as a book and I may be a lone voice in this. Many may also be a lot younger than I and still in more YA years.
Just pointing my reactions for those who may get bothered by this stuff as I do.
Pity as the male narrator is good.
Couldn't finish though male narrator good.
