I couldn't take it any more! 😖😱
The narrator's cadence and accent is just too irritating, I couldn't even finish the book. Because of that I also didn't rate the story highly. To me the narration is a part of the whole, especially on this platform. My advice is that you take a listen to the sample before you buy and decide for yourself.

Dreadful Narration
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
I am not sure who would love this as the narration is so bad. I have enjoyed all of the Private series and I can appreciate that they have tried to localize them through narration but the quality just wasn't there for this one. I didn't make it to the end.
What didn’t you like about Amerjit Deu and Raj Ghatak ’s performance?
The accent was difficult to understand and too monotone.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
No and yes, if my friend is a James Patterson fan like myself then yes I would but if he or she hasn't read a book by him before then no. Do not buy. Not his best.
What was most disappointing about James Patterson’s story?
The story had too much back and forth got kinda confusing
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Amerjit Deu and Raj Ghatak ?
Not sure
Could you see Private India being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
NOOOOOO
Any additional comments?
The plot was not bad but the back and forth is confusing. The narrator wasn't good at all. If there is another one I hope he uses another narrator and co author.

A stinker
Would you try another book from James Patterson and/or Amerjit Deu and Raj Ghatak ?
From James Patterson, yes. I have read every Patterson book.
What could James Patterson have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
It was a very disjointed and confusing book. The narrator (who was authentic) added to the confusion.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Amerjit Deu and Raj Ghatak ?
Not sure. They were authentic, however, it is the common stressor that one has when they call customer service in India and cannot understand the person.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Private India?
I don't know, I was confused through the entire book even when I continually played the book back.
Any additional comments?
I love the Private series, but this one was bad. Further, Jack Morgan does not speak with an accident which made the book unbelievable.

Private India
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Sad to say it was all about the delivery - the narration....
What other book might you compare Private India to, and why?
It's a typical James Patterson book - and I love JP's books, pretty much all of the Adult ones. Only read/listened to the Confession series of YA.
What didn’t you like about Amerjit Deu and Raj Ghatak ’s performance?
It was quite difficult to understand who was which character and the American Jack definitely didn't sound American!
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
I was disappointed to be honest, first time with an Audio book

Terrible reading
If this book wasn’t for you, who do you think might enjoy it more?
I like the story and I like the author but the acting / reading was absolutely appalling. an 8 year old child reading out loud for the first time would have done a better job
What was most disappointing about James Patterson’s story?
Could not get into the story as the reading made it too difficult to get into it. Shocking performance. I had to stop after an hour and put the book donw - shame as I have read all the other Private series.
How could the performance have been better?
get another reader, anyone really - I get a lot of audio books and have not realised up until now how important the quality of the reader is to the story
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Anger at such low quality due diligence and vetting process of the reading performance

Brilliant, Complicated Story. Poor Narration
This is a complicated, intricate, and diverse story. Well written as usual. With a couple of totally unseen plot twists at the end. No, make that at least 3 plot twists.!
However, what loses it points here is the narrator. Nothing wrong with his voice or characterisations, it just that at some points he reads as if the novel is written without punctuation! Some sentences are strung together as if there's no full stop (period) , separating them. Also, there is no real pause between scenes!!!
It may not all be the fault of the narrative, the editing may also be wanting, but whatever it is, it lets down a really good Patterson novel.
Still worth listening to because the story is great and you just won't believe the endings! But it feels as if it was not properly produced.
