Publisher's Summary

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune will be gruesomely murdered at the ball.

Mina's excited to attend the annual Argleton Jane Austen Experience at the stately Baddesley Hall. It's just what she needs after all the recent murders - a whole weekend of dancing with Morrie, attending poetry readings with Quoth, and helping Heathcliff field marriage proposals from adoring fans.

But murder and intrigue follow Mina everywhere. When an eminent Austen scholar is run through with his own sword, Mina and her boys must solve the mystery before the killer claims another victim.

Contains mature themes.

Sigh~ 😍

This was wonderful. I loved every moment and was so sorry to have it end. The next book can not be released quickly enough.
Morys development in this book was wonderful to watch. I think Quoth and Heathcliff are developing too but it's not been explored too much yet. After the last few chapters I'm really keen for a little lust and romance between the guys. I mean I'm always keen for things like that, but now I feel it's a real possibility going forward.

Mild spoilers below!

I was bummed when Lydia was the character that came through as she's probably my least favourite character in that book, but the more I thought on it the more it made sense. And then I fell in love with her snark and sass and where she desires to get situated was not what I expected but was bloody brilliant!
Oh and the mystery had me guessing to the end. I wasn't wholly surprised but I was quite unsure.

Loving this series !!

The murder doesn't happen until late in the book. It builds up with the introduction of another literary character appearing in Nevermore books just as Mina & her boys are invited to a Jane Austin weekend. Mina thinks this is a great way to escape all the death & discovery of her father, but of cause things don't run that smoothly, with jealous rivals, secret love affairs and a murder. Mina's relation with all the boys deepens, can't wait to see how it develops from here.
