Critic Reviews

A stunning family tragedy and a hold-your-breath pedal-to-the-metal thriller magically blended by Karin Slaughter’s trademark passion, intensity, and humanity. Certain to be a book of the year. (Lee Child)

What made the experience of listening to Pretty Girls the most enjoyable?

You won't want to stop listening, just to find out what the next twist is! This is one you'll need to concentrate on to full immerse yourself in the experience, not a background book.
The characters are just so believable, pitiful, and engaging. Karin Slaughter effortlessly creates a vivid picture of the environments, people and energy throughout.
The performance is unobtrusive and didn't distract from the story - as it should be.
Highly recommended.

Not what I expected - a fantastic read!

The story's content was awful and horrible. The narration was excellent, the characters well constructed. The final chapter made me cry throughout. I enjoyed listening to the book and highly recommend it, although not to the faint-hearted.

Horrific, Sad, Compelling

I've read a lot of Karins books and I have to say this new one did not disappoint. I absolutely loved it and was genuinely sad when it finished. This story made me laugh and cry and hold my breath in shock. If you know Karins work, you know she's awesome. This book felt new and refreshed, while still keeping the familiarity of her writing where is counted. I loved it and can't recommend it enough.

LOVED IT!!

Loved it! Managed to neglect the children, husband, work and house work in one foul swoop.
