Publisher's Summary

There were two brothers - identical twins - and though I loved them both, my soul belonged to only one.

Annalia Del Valle has loved Preston Sawyer all her life. The daughter of an impoverished migrant farmworker, she grew up as an outcast in what was no more than a tiny, cooped-up shack in California's Central Valley. But her heart found freedom in the land, in the wide-open spaces of Sawyer Farm, and in the boys who were her only friends.

Preston has yearned for Annalia since he was a boy. But a sense of honor kept him from pursuing her until he's unable to hold back any longer and their worlds - and bodies - collide one hot summer night. A night that sets off a chain of events that will alter their lives forever.

Now Annalia is back in town after disappearing without a trace for six long months. Determined to reclaim her heart, her life, and the baby she left behind - the son who was created in a moment of lust and love and pent-up yearning.

Preston has survived grief, a ravaging drought, and the despair of heartache, but he's not sure he can survive Annalia again. And he might be unwilling to try. Will pride and bitterness keep him from the one thing he's always longed for?

How do you heal what is irreparably broken? How do you forgive that which is unforgivable? How do you discover that real honor comes not from circumstance, but from the place deep in our hearts where truth resides? And how do you move beyond the wounds of the past to discover that some loves are as solid as the ground beneath your feet, and as enduring as the earth itself?

This is a stand-alone Sign of Love novel, inspired by Gemini. New adult contemporary romance. Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for listeners under the age of 18.

I really enjoyed this sort of second chance romance or maybe it was a finally getting it together romance. Mia has a rough life and was very naive throughout this book. Preston was a little more forgiving than I would have been but he loved her all his life so I get it. I don't normally like books that have more angst than happiness but Mia Shedian always knows how to full me in!

Sadly, the narration was not great for me. Mercedes Moreno grew on me but for the most part she really just sounded like she was reading to me. J.F. Harding is now on my list of Male narrators who shouldn't even bother with female voices, sadly his female voice is just too much and I would probably have enjoyed his narration is he wouldn't have given the women there own voice or if he did Duet Style narration. He was great with the story and the men for sure.

Heartwarming and Heartwrenching

I love that Mia Sheridan's characters are flawed people not necessarily good or bad, jut people who make mistakes. Well actually, there was at least one bad person, Alicia. This is a very touching story of two brothers who love a girl but in different ways since they were children but how the love manifests has repercussions that affect all of their lives. Mia and Preston have a lot to overcome to have the relationship they've wanted since childhood. The one theme throughout the story is that love, understanding and forgiveness can heal many broken relationships -- and there were plenty of broken relationships to deal with in the book.

Amazing narration -- I couldn't stop listening until the end.

Absolutely worth a credit and maybe a cry too.

Spinning the story

I love Mia's stories, love. I anticipate the twists and turns of her characters as the story unfolds and builds. Lia and Preston were so lost and listening to them find their way and make their love stronger was wonderful.

The narration did grow on me and by the end I could listen and totally be in character, the male's females voice was the most challenging for me, but really enjoyed the rest.

Preston, the Shy Farm Boy

A very sweet story about 3 kids who always gravitated toward each other as children and about their lives as they became teenagers. It was hard to listen to but too true to what may reallly happen! How many mistakes we make becoming teens and trying to think what was meant by something said or done. Wonderful ending but painful in getting there. Narrator was very good.

Great story, just...

Loved the story, wonderful characters. I almost cast this one aside because of the female narrator. Glad I plowed through, but Mercedes sounds like a 3rd grader reading from an 11th grader text book....painful! Thank goodness for J.F Harding reading parts - never would have made it without him.

Kermit the Cop

If teeth-grinding narration is your thing you'll be fine. If it isn't, you may struggle a bit.
He should NEVER be allowed to do female voices. I don't have words to describe how bad they truly are. I had to slow narration down as she talks very fast.
on the bright side, it's not even close to being her best book. There's not her usual twist in the plot, it's a straight up romance.
The book also has one storyline that could be viewed as political and always trending.
All I all, if you're familiar with this author, give this one a pass. If you're not familiar, again, give it a pass, she's better represented by other books.

"Where the Truth Lies " is a good representation of her work.

A real stretch based on the time lines

To be young and dumb and full of testosterone instead of brains is the crux of the story. Not truly a love triangle but uncomfortable all the same. The frustration for me in this book is decisions made by the main characters indicates that communication of any kind is pointless. Why talk and ask questions when you can make life-altering rash decisions.

Love the author but this was not a great story.

Sounds like she’s reading from a document

I have never not listened to an audible book because the performance. After listening to 50+ stories this is my first period the female narrator is probably reading from a script. However she also sounds like she’s reading from a script.
