About this listen

Ethan Sharpe is living every young Kiwi's dream—seeing the world for a couple of years while deciding what to do with his life, no rush. Then he gets a call. Two days later he's back in New Zealand. Six months later his mother is dead, his 15-year-old brother is going off the rails, and the café he's inherited is failing. His life is a hot mess and the last thing he needs is another complication—like the man who just walked into his café—a much older...sinfully hot...epic complication.

Tanner Carpenter's time in Queenstown has an expiration date. He has a new branch of his business to get up and running, exorcise a few personal demons while he's at it, and then head back to Auckland to get on with his life. He isn't looking for a relationship especially with someone 15 years his junior, but Ethan is gorgeous, troubled, and in need of a friend. Tanner could be that for Ethan, right? He could brighten Ethan's day for a few months, help him out where possible, and maybe offer some...stress relief, no strings attached.

It was a good plan, until it wasn't.

I absolutely love this story! There’s so much in it and the secondary characters are brilliant. I’m not going to go on and retell the story here, just read the blurb and then dive in…. you won’t be sorry! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
What about that Gary Furlong!! Delicious narration👏❤️

Highly recommended!❤️

Ethan owns the local cafe in a small town near Queenstown, NZ. Tanner is visiting for business and makes a point of picking up coffee from the cafe for his staff, just to get a glimpse of the guy he is crushing on, in the hopes of talking to him.

This is a bit of a slow burn and is a little angsty. In parts, but it’s very sweet and it made me cry. Ethan is dealing with the passing of his mother, raising his brother and trying to save a failing business. These two fall for each other hard, but it was a little like right person/wrong time as both of them knew Tanner had to return to Auckland and Ethan had to stay. But don’t worry, they get their HEA.

I loved the audio, Greg Furlong did an excellent job.

My first book by Jay Hogan and my first listen to Gary Furlong. And wow! Outstanding writing mixed with wonderful narration. A perfect mix of humour, lust, angst, insecurity, grief and joy. This book will live long as one of my favourite audiobooks of all time.

Perfect depth of characters and a sparkling narration bring Ethan and Tanner alive like few other MCs. Bravo.

An instant classic
