About this listen

Three strikes and you're out? If only.

In my world, it's more of a one-and-done situation, even if you get that one strike trying to do something good. I've been on the run for years, never staying anywhere too long, never getting attached to anything or anyone because he will always find me.

Bane.

He's the best bounty hunter in existence, and I'm the one that got away, well, keeps getting away. If he wasn't so sexy I would hate him for it.

When the cat-and-mouse game turns more serious, I'm the one that ends up screwed, and not in the fun way. I won't survive in prison - not because I'm too delicate - but because my magic has always been tightly under control. Prison, though? When I'm surrounded by sexy shifters and drool-worthy vampires? That's where it will all get unleashed.

Contains mature themes.

Im digging the prison context, a nice change. Character development is solid and the chemistry between characters is really well written, as are the saucy steamy bits. I don’t normally like a vulnerable FMC, the vulnerability makes me cringe and get frustrated, but she kind of is and kind of isn’t vulnerable - which is … 🤔 intriguing. This first books sets and builds yummy momentum between the story (a few layers are showing up), the setting and the chemistry between the characters. I’m definitely feeling the ‘gotta keep listening’ to see how the story unfolds in the next book. Narration is on point

I enjoyed the novel, more so when I swapped over to the written version since I disliked the female narrator. She used a weird affectation during the narration, where her words were spoken in a staccato rhythm. I say it is an affectation, as when she was voicing the characters speaking to each other, she sounds normal and did a reasonable job. Troy Duran was really good portraying the males’ side of the story.
My recommendation: buy the written version instead of the Audible.

Good book, awful narrator

An awesome story with a not so good female narrator, omg she sounds like those actress in the black and white gangster movies in the 50's. Staccato voice is perfect description of her narration, just annoying. Troy Duran is drool worthy x

***FANTASTIC STORY***
