Monique, the daughter of San Diego Chargers football great Earl Faison, married her high school sweetheart soon after she discovered she was pregnant with his child. Oh my god. I was in utter disbelief at the horror not only from the husband but also from the overall failures across so many supposedly protective and supportive systems. You didn’t just survive an utter monster, you overcame so so so much leading up to the truly horrific attack and then so so so much afterwards. Thank you for sharing this story, I can’t imagine the trauma around writing this, I had no idea what I had actually selected picking this true crime categorised audiobook, but oh my god did I learn so so so much. Your story will (& probably has already) save so many lives and inspire others to overcome the non stop obstacles they’re already facing. The lack of justice for an absolute monster like this is truly horrific. You are a goddess of love, nurture, resilient strength and an utter force to be reckoned with.
