Harry Hunter was everywhere you looked - bearing down from bus billboards, beaming out from the society pages, falling out of nightclubs in the gossip columns, and flirting up a storm on the telly chat show circuit. Harry Hunter is the new golden boy of the literary scene. With his books selling by the millions, the paparazzi on his tail, and a supermodel on each arm, he seems to have the world at his feet. Women all over the globe adore him but few suspect that his angelic looks hide a darker side, a side that conceals a lifetime of lies and deceit.

Tor, Cress and Kate have been best friends for as long as they can remember. Through all the challenges of marriage, raising children and maintaining their high-flying careers, they have stuck together as a powerful and loyal force to be reckoned with - living proof that 21st-century women can have it all, and do. It is only when the captivating Harry comes into their lives that things begin to get complicated, as Tor, Cress and Kate are drawn into Harry's dangerous games....

Gave Up

I've listened to a couple of Karen Swan's novels before and enjoyed them. However, the first few chapters of this seem to concentrate so much on the appearance of the female characters and are so full of negative, nasty comments about those women who are 'less than perfect', that I gave up.

Holes in the story

I enjoy Imogen Church narrations so found this book looking for her. Whilst I was gripped, by the end I found massive holes in the plot which has put me off this author.

Loved everything about this book

I've read a number of Karen Swan's books and enjoy them. The Players was a gem, I loved it and wanted to keep listening long after I should have turned off. It sweeps along and draws you in I liked the friendship the 3 girls had. Imogen Church brings the pages to life,

Unpredictable

As the book went on I struggled more to turn it off as I wanted to know more. It also though became quite complicated and I struggled at times to follow the story, it required more concentration than I'm used to in an audible book.
On the whole I really enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to another book by this author.

Not her best

I’ve loved the escapism of Karen Swans books. But this is the hardest one to get through so far. The story resolves nicely at the end but it could have done with a healthy edit. And the narrator’s make voices jarred with me.
Overall it was a bit too much. If you’re new to her books start with another one. This is not her best.

naration

the Narrator is terrible, pronunciation bad and men's voices appalling, all sound the same and all have laryngitis
