About this listen

USA TODAY BESTSELLER 2024

They say you never forget your first love. But what if you do?

Evie Hudson should be grieving her dead husband, but since the car crash that claimed his life, she can't remember him at all. The only person who can help her piece her past together is her high-school best friend, Drew Kennedy.
When snippets of her memory start falling into place, she wonders exactly how she ended up in a life that couldn't be further from the one she dreamed of. This time around, she's seeing all the things she missed . . . and the picture isn't pretty.

I thought there where beautiful parts to this story. Some heart wrenching parts, but I do wish it went even grittier and deeper than it did. It kept my interest, but it was all quite predictable. Still an entertaining listen.

This book truly takes you on a journey, in every sense of the word. Emma Grey is such a brilliantly talented writer and she captures the essence of her characters beautifully as they untangle the stories of their past. With care and compassion, she navigates topics often avoided by other authors, leaving you feeling like this is SO much more than a great read. You will laugh, cry and feel all the emotions (sometimes within the same chapter) and you'll be thinking about these characters long after you finish the book. I couldn't recommend it more highly!

Brilliance all round!

I enjoyed the plot and characters and this insight into a narcissistic personality. The characters were believable and there were enough sweet, funny moments to help ride through the unpleasant situations the lovable main characters go through. Highly recommend.
