Doch die Mäusefamilie, die sich im Haus von Tschaikowsky eingenistet hat, sieht das anders: Sie sind ganz wild auf die Geschichte, denn darin kämpft schließlich ein Mäusekönig gegen Zinnsoldaten! Nacht für Nacht stöbern sie klammheimlich in der Partitur herum. Dummerweise hinterlassen die Mäuse dabei immer wieder ihre Spuren. Tschaikowsky ist entrüstet und holt sich eine Katze als Kammerjäger ins Haus. Jetzt wird es ungemütlich zwischen Klavier, Nussknacker und Partitur...
