Publisher's Summary
After inheriting a crumbling lighthouse, Dr. Ben Garrison is more than ready to get rid of it until he meets a determined Marci Weber who wants to save the landmark. Can she make him see her point of view?
A crumbling lighthouse is not part of the inheritance Army doctor Ben Garrison expects to claim when he journeys to Hope Harbor. Fresh out of the service, he wants only to unload the tower of bricks, decompress from years of treating battlefield trauma, and prepare to launch his civilian career.
Hope Harbor Herald editor Marci Weber has other ideas. She may not be a Hope Harbor native, but the small Oregon seaside town has become home - and she's determined to save the Pelican Point landmark.
Sparks fly as the two go head to head over the fate of the lighthouse. But when they start to cooperate, a different kind of fire ignites. And as they work together, might Hope Harbor heal the hearts of these two romance-wary souls?
Best-selling author Irene Hannon invites listeners back to their favorite town for a story that will light a beacon of hope within their hearts.

FEELS SOOOOOO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I absolutely love this series. My first love is the Mystery/Thriller/Suspense genre! But after several of those in a row, I always take a break and listen to something like this novel. This series reminds me so much of Robyn Carr and to have Therese Plummer narrate is the icing on the cake. I couldn't pause this beautiful story except to sleep! The ending was perfect! I can't wait for the next release in the series. This was a real hit for me.
I'm a true fan of the Irene Hannon/Therese Plummer team!

Predictable but Engaging
I have listened to all the books in the series up to and including this book. They basically include the same plots and subplots with slight deviations. I enjoyed this book but I’m getting a bit bored with the series. I haven’t tried her other series so I’m not sure how much true variety there is.
FYI I really enjoy this narrator.

If you need something sweet and perfect
...grab some of T. Plummer s books. Everything is so perfect, heros have strong moral values and behave reasonably.
Sometimes it's nice to read something ideal like this, another time I can't finish such book. :D

Narration!
Completely wrong narrator for this story. Over dramatic, tried too hard, choppy performance. Main characters were male. Should have been read by a male.

Unexpected Legacy
An unexpected legacy turns out to be a beacon of hope for many people in Hope Harbor.
Ben and Maci don't exactly hit it off when they first meet. I enjoyed watching them frustrate each other to the point of falling in love.
I loved the real struggles that nearly newlyweds, Rachel and Greg, faced and how they overcame them.
Charlie, resident artist, master of fish tacos, and his uncanny knowledge about seemingly all things is once again the central connecting person in Hope Harbor. He always has the words people need to hear. He's also very communicative with the local wildlife. I love Floyd and Gladys.
This can be a stand-alone book in the Hope Harbor series. Each book has its own focal point. The characters from previous books do make appearances as the overall theme of Hope Harbor progresses.
I recommend it. The narration is very good too. I like the inflection and feeling Therese Plummer brings to the characters, especially Marci in this book.

Fluffy read
Irene Hannon is one of my favorite Christian fiction authors so it breaks my heart that I did not enjoy this book. It was just too fluffy for me with very little faith content. There wasn't enough of a plot to really keep me interested. Everything just seemed to fall right into place way too quickly. Wish Irene Hannon would stick with her suspense novels because those are her best books. Not sure if there will be more books in the Hope Harbor series but I won't read them if there is. Seems like each book in this series gets fluffier and fluffier. Very disappointed.
