About this listen

Everyone's invited. Everyone's a suspect.

An exclusive black-tie birthday party.
A sprawling mansion.
A body falling from a balcony.
One of the guests is dead, and another is a killer - but who is the hunter, and who is the prey?

As the drinks flow, so do the lies...and nobody is safe.©2025 Kelsey Cox Writer, Inc (P)2025 Hodder & Stoughton Limited

Critic Reviews

PARTY OF LIARS with its stunning prose and simmering tension is a mesmerizing story that's part gothic horror, part psychological thriller, part contemporary glitz - the narrative is masterfully woven with plenty of twists, and deftly handles heavier subjects like postpartum depression (Ashley Tate)
Breathtakingly good, it kept me enthralled to the very last page. A stunningly good debut and beautifully written twisty tale (Valerie Keogh)
I couldn't put it down! PARTY OF LIARS brings the gothic house mystery to Texas, featuring a killer cast, heart-pumping pace, and well-plotted twists and turns (Nina Simon)
PARTY OF LIARS explodes from page one: a stunning debut, a riveting page-turner, a brilliant exploration of motherhood and female desire. Every character is rich and complex, and I was stunned by the jaw-dropping twist at the end (Amanda Eyre Ward)
Dizzying and dazzling, Cox's debut slices through the saccharin sweetness of poisonous secrets to reveal the spongy heart of blood-soaked truths... A party to die for (Lindy Ryan)

It's a classic whodunnit psychological thriller novel. There was also a gothic setting in the background of this novel. Athough the plot was a bit predictable, I still enjoyed it. This novel kinda reminded me of Rebecca by Daphne du maurier, with its gothic setting and some of the characters. All in all, this novel was a very solid and enjoyable psychological debut thriller,

A very good debut thriller novel.
