About this listen

No one knows a city like the people who live there - so who better to relate the history of Paris than its inhabitants through the ages?

Taking us from 1750 to the new millennium, Graham Robb's Parisians is at once an audiobook to lose yourself in, to dip in and out of at leisure, and to return to again and again - rather like the city itself, in fact.

It started out to be a promising insight into history but quickly became an annoying story to listen to. The narrator’s attempts to mimic the different nationalities (German was particularly painful) was totally unnecessary and unprofessional. His Miles Davis accent was ridiculous! What are we, children listening to a bed time story??!! Grrrrrr 😬
