Uno spettacolo messo in scena da una compagnia amatoriale non corrisponde davvero all’idea di divertimento, per Agatha Raisin. Eppure lei è lì, nella sala comunale di Winter Parva, e spera che tutto finisca presto. A un certo punto però Bert Simple, panettiere di giorno e attore di sera, precipita in una botola che si è aperta sotto di lui.
