Eppure lei è lì, nella sala comunale di Winter Parva, e spera che tutto finisca presto. A un certo punto però Bert Simple, panettiere di giorno e attore di sera, precipita in una botola che si è aperta sotto di lui. Sembra un effetto scenico… e invece è un omicidio, dato che Bert viene ritrovato impalato sotto il palco.
