I love when writers combine myth nostalgia for characters we’ve come to love & history. Anne Rice succeeded in this task 3 fold.

I loved Anne Rice’s early work but this left a lot to be desired. It was a bunch of waffle and I listened to the end thinking that there will be some (any) action eventually … but no. Kate’s a great reader though
