About this listen

This rich and magisterial work traces Palestine's millennia-old heritage, uncovering cultures and societies of astounding depth and complexity that stretch back to the very beginnings of recorded history.

Starting with the earliest references in Egyptian and Assyrian texts, Nur Masalha explores how Palestine and its Palestinian identity have evolved over thousands of years, from the Bronze Age to the present day. Drawing on a rich body of sources and the latest archaeological evidence, Masalha shows how Palestine's multicultural past has been distorted and mythologized by Biblical lore and the Israel-Palestinian conflict.

In the process, Masalha reveals that the concept of Palestine, contrary to accepted belief, is not a modern invention or one constructed in opposition to Israel, but rooted firmly in ancient past. Palestine represents the authoritative account of the country's history.

this is an incredible insightful book about the real history of Palestine, it destroys Zionism with facts and logic and speaks facts about the history from bronze age to current times which the disgusting zionists are trying to hide. The truth will catch up to them. 5 stars, free Palestine!

Zionist nightmare

An unbiased and evidentially comprehensive history of the land and its people. Such an eye-opener when it comes to the extent to which the ancient land and civilization have been appropriated to the verge of obliteration by one nation with its dubious claims. Very heart-wrenching to know that the age-long struggle and heartache of the Palestinian people has been largely amplified by the West's complicity in this barbaric land-grab based on a piece of fictional writing. This must be one of history's biggest injustices ever perpetrated.

Unbiased and comprehensive account of Palestine's poignant history
