Good Read

Proven authors deliver another winning series. As an animal lover myself, the uncommon characters seem not at all out of step with what I believe of animals already. When will we have more of this series?

Not your typical #2 in a trilogy

What did you love best about Owlsight?

I loved that the second book in this trilogy didn't taper off in a sort of boring rolling attempt to get to the final, more exciting book. Owlsight was just as engrossing as the first book and led well into the third.

Mercedes Lackey is an excellent author, and this is an excellent example of that. Better with Owlflight, the first in this trilogy

Best Hawkbrothers to date.

This book completes 3 that may be read individually, but best if fully enjoyed to appreciate this unique faction. You & your significant others will appreciate the authors' and narrator's excellent production.
I shared with friends and family and have enjoyed hearing subsequent sharing this experience.

Loved the story, didn't love the reader

I love all the stories of Valdemar, this trilogy is especially fun. Seeing the familiar kingdom off Valdemar from the viewpoint of some non-heralds is interesting and having favorite characters from other books pop up in here keeps it feelings connected.

The narration, however, can be distracting to where it takes away from the overall enjoyment of a great story. I do appreciate that the reader gives each character a unique voice and tone fitting how he sees them. However, the decision to add heavy accents to certain characters was very jarring for me. In particular the accents given to all the humans from k'Leshya (but not Kelvren or Ayshen for some reason) really distracted me from the important roles they played.

Owlsight

This was a pretty good listen I have many books from these Authors but I wanted too know how this particular group of books would sound in a audible book . These Authors are some of my all time favorites and I have enjoyed reading their books for years so I know from experience that the books are going to be awesome . But it's the voice actors who bring these books to life well done and thank you .

Good story ruined by narration

Having read and enjoyed this trilogy some years ago, I was keen to have this as an audio book. But I'm sorry to say the narration was really not good. His voice was pleasant enough, but the narrative was dreadfully wooden, with almost no emotion, and read at such a deliberate and slow pace, that it could have been a robot. I struggled to carry on listening, as the narration grated on me so much.
