About this listen

Everyone feels foolish, embarrassed, judged or criticised at times, but this becomes a problem when it undermines your confidence and prevents you from doing what you want to do. Extreme social anxiety and shyness can be crippling, but they are readily treated using cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT).

In this fully revised and updated edition, Dr Gillian Butler provides a practical, easy-to-use self-help course which will be invaluable for those suffering from all degrees of social anxiety.

Overcoming self-help guides use effective therapeutic techniques to treat long-standing and disabling conditions, both psychological and physical.

This book deeply dives into the reasons for Social Anxiety and suggests approaches for changing models for living. It addresses all of the necessary factors that contribute to Social Anxiety; delivering a clear and concise review of how a person's belief systems, thought processes and common held assumptions impact on how we perceive ourselves, as well as how we think others perceive us. It then asks us to challenge these same factors, and goes though great techniques for achieving this. For someone who suffers from Social Anxiety, I found this text very helpful and insightful. I would suggest it to anybody who suffers the from the same conditions, and ask them to be open minded when reading it also.
