Publisher's Summary

A man of few words, Boris has a firm way of saying no, but Jan knows he's her mate. Despite some less-than-subtle overtures, she hasn't had much success in getting her bullheaded moose to notice her, but all that changes when her life is put in danger. Suddenly the damaged soldier keeps finding excuses to come to her rescue, but as far as Jan is concerned, her mate is the one in need of saving.

It will take some subtle maneuvering to outfox her moose into admitting he loves her, but this wily vixen is more than ready for the challenge. And if that doesn't work, Momma's offered to loan her the shotgun....

Great book but narrator is not my cup of tea.

I just love this book about a stubborn moose and his very wily fox shifter mate. When telling the story the narrator is fine, unfortunately, the narrator does not do the characters themselves justice. This is my third book by her and she makes every female and male lead sound the same. Jan is one very strong and capable lady, the narrator makes Jan, this strong female lead, sound very weak with a lispy voice. By doing this she does Jan a disservice. Boris and other male characters sound terrible, gruff and hoarse like they cannot speak normally. I am loath to purchase more of this series due to this narrator. I have listened to half of this series now and the only one not done by Ms Skye is Carribou’s Gift which is great. Comes across totally different. BOOK REVIEW 4.5 stars. What silly fun with an interesting sub story. Once again Eve has written another fun, interesting story. This looks like becoming another great series by this author. I will not synopsis this book as I dislike that but I will say Eve writes in a quirky style that I love. Boris is a very stubborn moose who knows who his mate is but won’t accept it. When Jan is kidnapped and Boris rushes to save her he gets quite a shock. Jan is not the delicate flower he thought she was. Her weapon collection is as good as his and she knows how to use them all. The sub story emerging is keeping me on edge. I have an idea who HE is but will have to wait and see if I am correct. Have already pre-ordered the next book Polar Bared. Keep them coming Eve.
