Publisher's Summary

With his wedding behind him, Fred is looking forward to nightly life finally settling down. Unfortunately, someone from his past has other, far less peaceful, plans in mind.

Finding his clan under attack, Fred must scramble to discover who is working against him and how to fight back. Between securing shelter, trading favors, and keeping up with his accounting business, it won't be easy to stay out of trouble, let alone uncover the identity of his adversary.

Faced with an enemy who has no interest in diplomacy, Fred and his friends will have to make hard choices if they want to survive. Choices that could forever change The House of Fred.

Another entertaining installment

Drew Hayes is easily one of the best and one of the most underrated authors providing titles on Audible. For those of you who are unfamiliar with his work, I cannot stress enough how much I recommend his books. In addition to his Fred books, you need to immediately buy the Superpowereds and Villain's Code series. And Drew.. i know some authors like to read their early reviews, so if by some freak of nature you are reading my review, i beg you to post some updates on how Villain's Code book 3 is going. Hope to see you DragonCon.

another fantastic tale of Fred

Absolutely loved every part of this one! There were some twists and turns and unexpected plot twists. Many laugh out loud moments along with cheering on the House of Fred. Another day spent listening to the antics of fictional characters who feel more like close friends.

Fred and Company have brought such joy into my life, even on days when my life isn't all that kind. Its a much needed escape and one I can listen to over and over. In fact, I think I enjoy the stories more with every read.

Another fun, enjoyable book

Obviously, since this is book seven, most people who are listening are familiar with the series. I love these books because they’re light, fun, and an easy listen. This edition doesn’t disappoint. Old characters are further flushed out, and the plot continues to move forward in rewarding ways. Hopefully, Drew keeps them coming because I found I really needed the positive influx of energy that I usually get from these books.

Very good - did seem a bit short

As always, a good story in the Fred the Vampire Accountant series. The beginning was explosive and tense. Fred's solution was apt. Nevertheless it felt a bit short in overall length. I wish there had been more details of the antics and unique approach to life of the various clan members. I think this book will be a "bridge" to a more aggressive and on-guard Fred. His naive wish to be left in peace is fading as he grows wiser and more proactive in protecting his clan.

I couldn't stop listening

Another exciting chapter to the world's less vampiric vampire. Can't wait for more. While I can't grab a beer with Mr. Hays, I love his work. Especially using locations out in our area.

Awesome as Always!

Fred's story and character development really shine in this book. Narrator is absolutely perfect for Fred's character. Some of the scenarios had me laughing out loud.

Great fun

I was hoping that I my expectations for this book would not exceed the actual story and was not let down, I really enjoyed it and was sorry to see it end. Narration was as always great.

The Continued Growth of Fred and the House

For a being so hum-drum, Fred sure is compelling. I listened to the book in a day because I couldn't stop it. Book 7 is the natural continuation of the previous 6 books with interesting spin.
As I have stated in previous reviews of Drew Hayes's books, he excels in character development. 7 books in and we are learning more about our favorite characters, making them deeper and full. While many questions have been tied up, there are so many more questions that have popped up. As always, Kirby Heyborne is the perfect narrator for Fred and company. I especially appreciated his gremlin voice. Just fun all around.
As I approached the end of this book, part of me was thinking that Hayes was wrapping up so many questions that this may be an ending point of the series. Then he opens up an whole new line that must be followed. I'm so happy to have visited with my good friends again and look forward to hanging out with them for a while more. Thanks Drew!

A refreshing auditory adventure

This series just gets better with every installment.
I've read every work of Mr. Hayes's wonderful imagination, and ALWAYS come back for more.

My only complaint is that I have to wait for more!

Mr. Heyborn's performance is, in my opinion, exquisitely done, bringing to life the characters and events that make up the lives and experiences of the House Of Fred, like no other could.

I'm a huge fan of R.C. Bray. There is no real comparison between the two narrators, since they are completely different, and perform on completely different types of works. However, the reason I mention R.C Bray (if you are a fan), is that Kirby's narration (in my opinion) is equal to or exceeds that of Mr. Bray's well lauded accomplishments, for this type of genre.

it's like comparing a fine aged Wine, with an oak barrel aged small batch Whiskey. Completely different, equally fantastic. The only similarities are that you quickly find what you like, and then ruin your ear pallet (phrasing alert) for anything less!!

Drew and Kirby, together, make such a fantastic combination of artists, that if (in the case of this series) one were to change...well it would be like switching from one of the tasty beverages mentioned above, between sips, to a skunky, flat, warm, generic white labeled "beer"! Certainly that has its place and time, to be sure.

However, why "ear drink" humdrum old no lable skunky beer, when you could consume the exciting, ear pallet invigorating, aged blood infused champaign ( you'll get the reference later), of Out of House and Home.

I guarantee you won't have an ear hangover the next day!

This was pretty good.

I liked this book. The stories that made it up were fun and I liked seeing Fred's story advance a bit more. The only aspect that bugged me was Fred's passivity. Being 7 books in I know what his character is like but I still thought he was a bit too passive in this book, especially at the end, it's like Deborah's lessons about needing overwhelming strength to show mercy went over Fred's head.

Other than that the stories were nice and the narration was excellent.

Just gets better

Drew is one of the best and most prolific authors of this type of relatable fantasy and Fred the accountant is just one of his brilliant creations.

And Kirby just brings all the characters to life, his vocalisation of Gideon is just sublime!

READ/LISTEN TO THEM ALL!!!! You really won’t regret it
