Loved another story including Dave. Looking forward to Mia’s journey and crimes she has to solve.

This book was ok.
The narrator was crap.
It is slightly unbelievable that when the husband dies, the wife still appears to act normally, laughing and getting on with life.
The fact she stays in the area after he dies doesn't seem right either as the in-laws can't stand her.
I would be out of there on the next flight.

I made the big mistake of not checking the narrator before purchase & for me the change of narrator doesn't fit the Dave Burrows persona I have enjoyed so much in the past. Then waiting until Chapter 3 until the 2 main character are are even mentioned causes the book to loose all context (for me) of what a Dave Burrow's novel entails.

Unfortunately I can't return this book for whatever reason & I simply can't finish it so my review is: check the narrator if you are a follower of the Dave Burrows series and for that reason alone this book does not rate in my opinion. It's like listening to Jack Reacher and not having Jeff Harding as the narrator.

I have read all of Fleur McDonald's books and adore the Dave Burrows series, but this one was a real disappointment. Possibly because Dave Burrows had such a small role. I didn't enjoy the female lead/victim's wife. The story took too long to pick up pace or grab attention. It was a boring read for me.
