I really went into this book, only reading the blurb. All I knew was I couldn't go wrong with Sheridan Anne, an author I only discovered in March this year.

Aria is a journalist, investigating a prisoner, Stone Blackthorne. There is more to his killing spree, but she never expected to go on the run with him after breaking out of prison. You could tell that there was more to the story of these two by Stone's reaction to Aria. It's chilling!

This easy listen will have you laughing out loud. Narrators Lee Samuels and Brooke Daniels perfectly bring Stone's broodiness and Aria's feistiness to life.

This book is a fun, suspenseful, and humorous read. The tension between Stone and Aria is immediate, and you can't help but feel giddy as you eagerly anticipate their slow-burning romance.
I enjoyed this book so much that I can't wait to listen to it again.

These narrators did an amazing job bringing the characters to life because I was sat and obsessed immediately.

Some audiobooks are background noise. This one grabbed me by the throat, threw me in the getaway car, and yelled buckle up.

Sheridan Anne delivers a dark prison-break rom com that is wildly chaotic, ridiculously addictive, and impossible to pause. The premise alone deserves applause: one interview, one accidental jailbreak, and suddenly Aria is fleeing with Stone Blackthorne, a man made entirely of flashing neon warning signs.

The duet narration from Brooke Daniels and Lee Samuels is absolute gold. Brooke nails Aria’s snark, panic, and humour, while Lee gives Stone that dangerous growl with enough charisma to make questionable life choices feel reasonable. Together, they make the banter crackle and the tension burn.

Fast-paced, funny, filthy, and feral in the best way. I inhaled this in one sitting.

Oh my god. I have died and gone to Sheridan Anne heaven. Sheridan always has that little bit of dark humour sprinkled in with her characters witty banter, but to get to experience it in a full on dark rom com is something else completely. And I am all for it!

Mr Stone Bkackthorne is the biggest red flag, but it’s okay because we are al colour blind around here.

All you need to know is this is a dark prison break rom com, legitimately don’t want to say anything else, this NEEDS to be experienced without any prior information, it is such a good time, it will have you clutching your pearls and wetting yourself from laughter.

Hands down one of my top books of 2026
