Your life can change in a heartbeat....

Vivienne Shager has it all. A high-flying job. A beautiful apartment. Friends whose lives are as perfect as her own. But on the afternoon of her 27th birthday, Vivi has a heart attack.

Now Vivi’s life shrinks back to how it began, as she moves back to the small seaside town she grew up in. With her time running out, there is one thing she wants to know the truth about.

Some secrets are best left in the past....

Thirty years earlier, Shelley’s family home, Deerwood farm, bursts full of love and happiness. But one family member has hidden a secret for all these years. Until Vivi comes home demanding answers, and it takes just a moment to unravel the lie at their heart of their lives.

Heart stopping !!

What a fabulous story! The winding and weaving of the characters at the begining and the marvelous way their lives were so entwined historically was so clever ! And of course the reality of the importance of donation and not only of hearts but of 8 other organs. Thankyou Susan for another fabulous thought provoking story !!

Powerful

Susan Lewis never disappoints. This was a lovely story which raises awareness of leaving our organs to other unfortunate people who may need them.
Looking forward to the next book

A very disappointing read

I have read many of Susan Lewis’s books and enjoyed them all. This one however was awful. Other than the part of the story line that had any meat to it the book was so very sickly sweet with literally everything on the farm was idyllic and so unrealistic. The ending was absolutely predictable. I also felt strongly that I was being lectured to for many chapters on the benefits of organ donation.

Fantastic book, beautifully written

I can't think why but I haven't read any Susan Lewis books previously. The storyline was complex with lots of characters weaving in and out of each others lives. The main chapter, Vivi, starts and finished the book and I really thought I had worked out the end ... I hadn't. I wouldn't want to give anybody clues to the story and certainly not the end. I just recommend it to anybody who enjoys reading a good book and a few tears at the end
