Publisher's Summary

Penguin presents the audiobook edition of One Day in December by Josie Silver, read by Eleanor Tomlinson and Charlie Anson.

Laurie is pretty sure love at first sight doesn't exist. After all, life isn't a scene from the movies, is it?

But then, through a misted-up bus window one snowy December day, she sees a man who she knows instantly is the one. Their eyes meet, there's a moment of pure magic...and then her bus drives away.

Laurie thinks she'll never see the boy from the bus again. But at their Christmas party a year later, her best friend Sarah introduces her to the new love of her life. Who is, of course, the boy from the bus.

Determined to let him go, Laurie gets on with her life. But what if fate has other plans?

Following Laurie, Sarah and Jack through 10 years of love, heartbreak and friendship, One Day in December is a joyous, heart-warming and immensely moving love story that you'll want to escape into forever.

You must like internal dialogue

Maybe I’m not sentimental enough or probably more to the point long monologues of internal dialogue are not my thing.
I found the characters heads to be too similar to determine, at times, who was speaking.
Having said that I’m sure it would make a good movie using the actual dialogue.

Stellar female narration

Eleanor Tomlinson is an absolute star. I couldn't get over how perfect her delivery was in this heart-warming holiday story. You wouldn't have to listen at Christmas and it's a great time if you do. The voice of Jack wasn't my favourite but it was still an excellent recording of a book I never would have tackled in print, which would have been a tragic missed connection on my part.

Absolutely charming, funny and sweet

The story was beautifully written and I loved the narrators voices. They portrayed the characters so well.
Story is sweet and charming, all the while pulling at your heart strings.
Couldn’t help but fell like the characters were your best friends.

Wow

I loved this book and could hardly wait for my next chance to listen to more. I'm kind of disappointed that it has come to an end. Will look out for more books like this from Josie Silver

Life can't go on now I've finished the book

I feel lost, like I'm grieving the characters. I fell in love with them and I have never been so devastated for a book to end.

narrator was brilliant and a proper feel good book

the two narrators of this book we're really good, not cheesy and over acted. the storyline despite carrying out over ten years doesn't drag or have dry bits. would definitely recommend.

Amazing

I absolutely loved this book! The Narrators for both Laurie and Jack were perfect ❤ makes you want to read/listen to it all over again just to keep hold on to the characters for just a little longer.

Lovely story, predictable but still loved it

There was something about this story that gripped me, even though it was predictable it still managed to leave me wanting more once I’d finished it.
Finished it in a few days whilst busing it to and from work :)
