The fact that she kept throwing in 20th century jargon, when it would obviously make no sense what all to the period she was in, was so annoying. I get she would have maybe done this right at the start, but once she knew where she was .....
I did enjoy the back story of the aunt and sisters. This kept me going, as well as how was the ending going to be dealt with.
Probably would have given a rating of 3.5 as 3 would be logo low.

I love historical romance & time travel, but the main character of Emma was so irritating that I couldn’t continue. She is meant to a history major, but is completely clueless on how to behave in 1816. The continuous inappropriate modern slang and behaviour which seems to be an attempt to make her character appear cute, becomes repetitive & make Emma look immature & ignorant. Made it halfway through the book before I gave up on it improving.
