Evocative

Enjoyable
Very enjoyable audiobook. Well read and easy enough to keep track of the characters — although I kept getting my Duncans mixed up with my Dougals and Douglases. Nice to be in the Scottish highlands.

I loved the flow of script, the painting of the scenery without to many abstract adjectives. it was so visceral and intimate.

Breathtaking
Ordinarily I wouldn't have picked a story like this but it was a bookclub choice and I am so glad it was.
The story was atmospheric, haunting, palpable, sad but heart-warming all in one. I can't think of many books that have brought a tear to my eye, but this one did - twice!

I loved the idea of this book, it was full of imaginative & new ideas but somehow it lost a depth & I became very disinterested.

brought the wilderness to me
McConaughey writes beautifully about pain and love and I loved the tales of the wolves and the wilderness.
Great to have Australian and Scottish accents to listen too.

Enjoyable read
It took me a while to get into this, but once I did I couldn’t put it down. The writing really created an atmosphere, taking me to the beautiful but rugged Scottish highlands. Themes of humanity, survival, trauma and balance within nature made this an excellent book.
