Arthur MacDonald, 85, is having an end-of-life crisis. His beloved, dying wife of over 60 years no longer knows who he is. His older brother still has all his hair and a wife almost half his age. The man his middle-aged daughter is dating has a ponytail.
His teenaged grandson wants to cook desserts for a living. And his daughter wants him to move into Silvermine retirement home. Then Arthur meets the gorgeous, radical, 80-something-year-old Robbie and learns that nobody is ever too old to fall in love all over again.

Poignant but not depressing, Even LOL at times!
Loved this book, and the narration too.
Other recent audio-books on a similar theme pale by comparison. I am of an age where the theme of one's twilight years has some relevance.
Heart-warming, feel-good but not trite or cliched.
in the words of Mollie Meldrum (showing my age!), do yourself a favour!

A good light hearted view of age
I could see elements of the older people in my life and things i could only hope for in my old age.

I loved it
This book is laugh out loud funny then emotionally charged and touching: it is an emotional roller coaster that has an undertone of sweetness and excellent character development.

Once More With Feeling
What a sensitively told, beautiful story about the many forms love can take. Love for a brother, wife, daughter, grandson and friends are explored without overdone sentimentality. An insight into the male personae of last century and the difficulty they had with expressing their feelings. Misunderstandings are put right in a believable scenario. This book is masterfully narrated leaving the reader with a real connection to the main character. One of the best books I have heard in a long time.

Enteraining and enlightening
Really enjoyed this as I found it topical for me with ageing parents, and ageing myself! Really loved the narrator - really talented at the different characters, could listen to him all day.

Delightful story
I didn’t know what to expect with this book, and it was real delight. It sensitively covered a lot of issues and the narration was terrific.

One of a kind
This is such a beautiful and touching story. It is so rare to come across books that feature characters in this age group, let alone one that moves beyond the stereotypical representation of our older generation. Highly recommended and flawlessly performed.
