Publisher's Summary

When family is on the line, there’s nothing defense attorney Doug Morrison won’t do. He’ll even go to the detective who put his father away for help in proving his innocence. When the driven omega meets the strong, crafty alpha, will their passion burn too bright to keep them on the case?

Defense attorney Doug Morrison is very good at his job. After his father is convicted in a series of gruesome murders, Doug takes it upon himself to save the man who’s given him everything. When he finds evidence his father was someplace else for some of the crimes, he seeks out the detective who initially got his father convicted.

Ray Langer is a laid-back sort of alpha, but he’s very good at his job. He knows the evidence was good when it came to the Morrison case - until Morrison’s gorgeous, confident omega son shows up with evidence that chips away at his case, little by little.

Ray agrees to work with Doug to get to the bottom of the issue. When an evening of passion turns into an accidental claim, they’re left with questions and fears. Can Ray continue to investigate his mate’s father without a conflict of interest? Can Doug defend a man who his alpha arrested?

Together, they need to get to figure out not only what the claim means for them, but who committed the murders attributed to Doug’s father. Somewhere out there, someone is getting away with murder.

This stand-alone gay romance audiobook contains sexually explicit content and is not suitable for anyone under the age of 18. This audiobook has a happy ending, contains mpreg (male pregnancy), and does not end in a cliff-hanger.

Sound

The story was enjoyable but I found the narrator a little dull to listen to. There also was the occasional interruption to the audio. Particularly in chapters 11 and 12

Story was great, narrator… not so much

I absolutely love this series! Aiden writes a murder mystery well, and has me guessing who did it up until the reveal. I love a strong omega, and this didn’t disappoint.

However, I really encourage everyone to listen to the audio sample. The narrator spoke so slowly and stilted, and there were many random skips in the audio itself. I had to listen at 1.5x speed and it was. Still. So. Stilted. He would… talk. Like…. This. A lot. He did voices well enough, but the pauses between words were so distracting it took me days to muscle through.

great story but it needs a different narrator

I enjoyed the story and the way the plot unfolded but the narrator was a little too slow for my taste

Would listen to again

This was a adorable story and I looked that the Omega was not a weak character but strong, smart, and independent. I also liked that the Alpha wasn't an overbearing d-bag. I love a good who done it but feel like when the time came to reveal the true culprit it was lacking. However I would be interested in reading the next book. (Read this one first and didn't feel like I missed anything from not reading the first 2 which I liked.)

I also had issues with the narrator. Although I actually very much loved his voice, his style of actually reading is very much stop and go. I kind of feel like if he were to read the chapter/book before he started the narration his reading would have flowed more smoothly. I actually think he has a lot of potential if there was a way just to make his reading flow better and not feel so choppy.

Another Great Addition to the Series!

I truly enjoyed this story. The murder/mystery plot was great.

It was refreshing to have an Alpha who would stop and think before acting.

Overall this is a wonderful Mpreg story.

enjoyable

Would I listen to it again: probably
Did the story keep me engaged: yes
Was I invested in the characters: yes
What did I like about the story? good character development, I enjoyed the chemistry between Ray and Doug and it's a really interesting story with a good pace that kept hold until the very end.

John Hong has done a reasonable job of Omega's Kiss. He's given the characters their own voices and for the most part the inflections and intonations are there. But at times it felt flat and I wanted to speed it up a fraction and i'm not convinced he's done the story justice.

Great ending for a great series

The conclusion is six book arc was very satisfying. Nothing was left dangling and unresolved. It was a lot of fun to read and looking forward to more books by this author.

Good Continuation of the Series

I don’t like to judge books, because my taste it‘s not other listeners taste. I buy books because their excerpt intrigues me. Those are funny and lovely books full of love and crazy family members.
But I love this book and the story it tells and can recommend it.
The same goes for the other books in this series.

Short and sweet

This in a great story, well written and so filled with the tender love that new lovers experience. The sex was great too but the tender honesty of the Alpha and the warmth of the Omega was fantastic! I loved it!

was okay but....

the story was good but i could not truly enjoy the narrator and there were several stops where the narration actually skipped so it took me 3 days to get through instead of the 1 day that the rest have taken me. will still listen to the rest of the series.

Absolutely brilliant

This book was absolutely brilliant to listen to, I loved how Doug and Ray interacted with each other and the accidental claiming. Along with the twists and turns of the Doug’s dad retrial and new assailant.

as good as the ebook

The story is always 4 or 5 stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook.

The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. It took me a little bit, to come into the narrator, but at the end, it worked. I only have to take a few breaks between. I'm just not yet finish with the book, but I listen enough to give a review.

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:

5* - very very good
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often re-listening
it's like an A

3* - it's more then a one-time-listening, but not more then twice a year.
it's like a B

The narrator was slow for me

I have listened to books by Aiden Bates before and have enjoyed them, I don't usually listen to murder stories with courtroom dramas but I did enjoy this one. Your strength of character is brilliant. This surprised me by being a great story and I'm glad it had a happy ending, keep more coming
