Absolutely loved it!
Couldn't remember all of the details of Dicken's GE - but thank goodness, this book ended the way that I had hoped. Beautifully narrated and well worth the listen.

Perfection!
Reading the paperback gave me a new favourite but listening to this pure magic has become a part of me!
George Naylor brings Jude to life with his amazing narration. This story will for sure be a comfort read/listen now. Youth at its most heartwrenching yet hauntingly beautiful. Just want to start it all over again!

A masterpiece
I will not be recovering ever. This book tore my heart out of my chest and stomped on it repeatedly until the epilogue put it back together with gentle hands.
I love Jude. I hated Cas. Then felt for Cas and what he put himself through more than any character I think I’ve ever read about.
The yearning in this book is god tier.
The writing is god tier.
The performance of the narrator was god tier.

heartbreakingly brilliant
holy cow! I devoured this in 1 day, with no regrets. I was worried, going in, with only 1 narrator, but he did so well will voicing other characters. not an ounce of confusion.
The story was brilliant, I have never read or watched great expectations, so I went in pure blind, an hell. I'd love some amnesia just to do it all over again. Ruined meeee, but I loved every minute.

A Masterpiece!
I feel breathless and bereft now that I have finished listening to this exquisite story and narration. I ask myself how Scarlet Drake is able to craft such utter literary perfection? Her skill leaves me completely lost for words. I cannot express how deeply I feel and how much this book means to me because my heart is overflowing. George Naylor’s narration is true perfection. A constellation of stars rating - and a million more. Thank you

Definitely in my top 5 reads of 2024. Brilliant
I’ve been DYING for this audio and it did not disappoint. Scarlett Drake is my number one book hangover/crush-my-soul author. I stared at the wall for a long time after finishing this. George Naylor is a new-to-me narrator and he was also brilliant.
Wow. So, we start with Jude and Cas meeting when they’re 15 at the Devereaux Mansion in Jersey, then follow Jude to Oxford and then end with them in their late 20’s (plus a short post-script 7 years after that). They both go to hell and back for a hard fought HEA. It’s worth hanging in there for. It’s told in first person POV by Jude - he narrates the story from an undetermined point in the future.
Unpopular opinion: I’m totally team Jude+Nathan BUT, as Jude says, “I was Jude and Jude loved Cas” so that was never going to happen.
Definitely in my top 5 reads of 2024. Brilliant work.

Jude & Caspien, the way this true hate to love romance is told is absolutely heart-wrenching the way Caspian moulds Jude & Jude unconditional love blooms had all my feels on high alert & I never wanted it to end & I just know I'll find it hard to find a story like it. 🥰😭💖Ready yourselfs you won't come out of it the same.

A beautiful Masterpiece!!!
One of the top 5 books I’ve ever read, this magnificently written book had me laughing and crying. A very well done, reimagined interpretation of a beguiling Dickens classic. I really was sad to finish this book but I will read this again, many times. ❤️ 👌🤌

Story of Jude and Caspien
This is a second chance romance, a retelling of Great Expectations, featuring Jude and Caspien, and is a standalone book.
I was dreading reading this because I knew it was going to be an emotional rollercoaster and angsty and was going to make me cry. Well, I must have been in a crying mood yesterday because I jumped in and couldn’t put it down till Jude and Caspien for their HEA. I sat up till 2am finishing it and then sat there for another 30 mins crying and thinking about it.
I am so thankful for the buddy read on this one, even though I knew the plot of Great Expectations, I still needed a lot of reassurance and I had questions that needed answers to help me get through the heart sore feeling I had for Jude the entire time reading this book.
Omg, these two boys to men, what they both put themselves through. Now I’m tearing up again writing this.
I was so angry with Gideon the whole way through and Uncle Luke was an angel! And don’t get me started on Xavier. Argh!!!!
Calling this a second chance romance just doesn’t do it justice. It’s so beautifully written, it’s an absolute journey of emotions, it’s angsty and all the pining just grabs your heart. I was seriously a wreck by the end of it. I loved it!
The audio was phenomenal! First book narrated by George Naylor for me and I loved it so much.
