Publisher's Summary

Rowan

My whole life, I’ve been taught to despise shifters. So when I’m hired to track two escaped convicts, I’m suddenly thrust into the world I hate - or thought I did. Yet I’m inexplicably drawn to the alpha of the pack, whose land the convicts may be hiding on. He’s different than any shifter I've ever met - laidback and quick to laugh, caring, and protective, and makes me feel complete for the first time in my life. As secrets are revealed, I start to wonder if everything I’ve been raised to believe was a lie, though it may not matter, because it seems like someone wants us dead.

Quinn

I’m no stranger to prejudice from humans, but it’s different when Rowan comes into my life. Though I shouldn’t let myself be distracted, I’m captivated by him. At first, he’s stiff, fighting to keep his misconstrued beliefs intact, but as I break down the wall he’s created, I’m able to show him a place among the fun chaos of my pack. After one of my pack goes missing, it leaves Rowan and me racing to bring them home. The only way we’re going to survive this is if Rowan learns to accept the bond that’s growing between us - a bond that could give us the strength to put aside our reservations and give in to what both of us want.

Of Secrets and Wolves is an action-filled romance with a dash of comedy. It’s the first book in a series with a continuing storyline and an HFN.

A great and unexpected tale

I really have enjoyed the humour of this story and became attached with likeable characters. As the story takes the pack into more disturbing situations the light style and humour kept me reading. Worth a read.

Such a great story

This series and this author are wonderful. The humour and you wants in the writing in the story is fantastic. This might be billed as an LGBTQ I plus book, but if the author wrote straight fiction should be up there with the best of them. Definitely worth checking out this and her other books you will not be disappointed.

Great fun

You’ve got sexy wolves, a mating between two people that slowly grow together, and a sprinkling of catnip. What more could you want?

Quite entertaining

I did enjoy this and while I definitely did not find it boring like a lot of other reviews said they did, I did find the amount of teasing and humiliation thrown at Rowan by Quinn off-putting. That is probably just my personal bias though as that kind of thing is quite a sore spot for me.
That said, this story has plenty of action and laughs. Could have done with a it more steam and a few less stereotype cliche side characters. All was written well enough, though, that I enjoyed it.
Also loving all the love for snow leopards! They are such amazing animals and definitely deserve more love from the shifter romance writers.

Evil doctor v kindhearted pack leader

Great start to the series, lots of sass as you expect from Alice Winters characters. The deadpan responses to some of Ari’a sass is funny. I was already downloading book 2 as I was reaching the epilogue for this one. Looking forward to seeing where Quinn leads his pack. It reminds me of Thor “Asgard is a people not a place”

Can’t finish it

Poorly written. Slightly interesting concept. Pity the good narrator trying to make the most of the awful prose. I’ve read a lot of Alice Winter’s books and they have been a fun read, and reasonably well written. This is not. Did someone else write this?
