FMC ‘development’ was frustrating and hard to listen to, I almost didn’t finish it despite really enjoying the first book. Not sure i’d invest in the third book.

The pacing takes its sweet time getting moving, but once the final third of the book hits, the audiobook becomes impossible to pause.

Aaron Donahue and Rhys Blackburn absolutely carry the darker emotional scenes, while Hannah Chiclana makes Deja the undisputed star of the entire series. Sassy dragon threatening murder? Perfect. However her portrayal of Kat was inconsistent. Switching between a put on voice in a completely different tone that was formal and devoid of personality and a raw human portrayal with intonation, emphasis and emotion. This was beyond frustrating and honestly ruined the listening experience

Darian continues to win the love triangle war simply from his 10 Things I Hate About You speech reimagining 🖤, The constant emotional whiplash between tenderness and viciousness did get tiring, but I’m still fully locked in for book three. April 2027 cannot come fast enough.
