About this listen

I knew the moment Katy Swartz moved in next door there was going to be trouble. Lots of it. And trouble's the last thing I need, since I'm not exactly from around here. My people arrived on Earth from Lux, a planet 13 billion light-years away. Plus, if there's one thing I know, it's that humans can't be trusted. We scare them. We can do things they only dream about, and honestly, we make them look weak as hell. Cuz they are. But Kat is getting to me in ways no one else has, and I can't stop myself from wanting her - or wanting to use my powers to protect her. She makes me weak, and I'm the strongest of our kind, tasked with protecting us all. So this one girl might mean the end for us. Because the Luxen have an even bigger enemy - the Arum - and I need to stay on my game. Falling for Katy - a human - won't just place her in danger. It could get us all killed, and that's one thing I'll never let happen.

I love this narrator, it feels like he suits Daemon down to the ground! And I love seeing this story from Daemon’s POV, it makes everything he did make so much sense! I wish I didn’t wait as long as I did to read this!

Such a good read!

I absolutely adored Katy's perspective in Obsidian and was really thrilled to learn that Oblivian existed for Daemon's perspective of events. It was a welcome insight into how he viewed things changing and unravelling throughout Obsidian with some extra scenes we would have had to only guess at without this book.

Daemon being instantly infatuated by Katy and trying harder than Katy does to ignore that growing attraction is wonderful. I love that he fell first and probably hardest as well. I understood a lot of Daemons asshole-ery late in Obsidian when his family history is revealed, but having that instantly really changes all his actions. His thoughts are full of concern for his species and especially his sister.

Daemon isn't perfect and I love that he constantly messes up, particularly when it comes to interacting with Katy. I really enjoyed this insight into his thoughts. I am looking forward to continuing this series.

Wonderful insight
