About this listen

Can sworn enemies fight side by side to save their lives and their kingdoms? Just as spring approaches and Will and Evanlyn can finally escape Skandia, Evanlyn is carried off by mysterious horsemen. Will sets out after them, but one boy against six fierce Temujai warriors is impossible odds - even for a Ranger apprentice. Halt and Horace arrive just in time. But the happiness of their reunion is cut short when Halt realizes these Temujai are only scouts for a massive invasion force. The four Araluans must work together with the Skandians to defeat the invaders - if the Oberjarl will accept their help.

Why is there music between chapters. It’s terrible, mournful, time wasting and very annoying. I enjoyed the story but it was far too short for the money I paid and the noise between chapters is irritating. I’ve begun to think that it’s an attempt to make the story appear to be longer than it is.

The battle scenes were gripping. The Rangers were inspiring. The story was full of life lessons like ‘practice makes perfect bowman-ship’ and ‘friendships occur across cultures’. Holt plays an interesting character in this story because he fulfills his vow to save Will and he advises the Scandinavian people in battle. This could be revealing battle secrets of his people. In this story Will must choose between being a leader within Redmount Castle or continue to finish his apprenticeship as a Ranger. What will he choose?

A important decision for Will

The family is really enjoying this series! I downloaded it for some of the long drives we've been on, even the teenager is keen to listen to it!

Amazing

certain plot points were completely skipped and would’ve provided way more entertainment; evanlyn listening in on slagor’s betrayal, halt/horace actually finding will/evanlyn etc. other than that, the other main criticism i have is that the voice acting is sometimes excruciatingly mid; the scandian accent refuses to grow on me and i don’t like how the araluen royal family don’t have a british accent…

in almost every other instance, however, the voice acting is extremely good. zappa gets the feel of most of these characters spot on, even minor roles such as borsa and lord anthony.

quite good, i enjoyed the nostalgia which i felt
