Publisher's Summary

No more pretending. No more performing. No more fighting to prove yourself.

Are you tired inside and out? Are you trying your best to measure up - yet you still feel as if you're losing ground and missing out on the best parts of life?

You are not alone.

Jennie Allen understands the daily struggle so many of us face with inadequacy and insecurity and the fear that we are not enough. And she invites us into a different experience, one in which our souls overflow with contentment and joy. In Nothing to Prove, she calls us to:

  • Find freedom from self-induced pressure by admitting we're not enough - but Jesus is.
  • Stop doing things for God and start doing things with him.
  • Admit our greatest needs and watch them be filled by the only one who can meet them.
  • Discover how God moves wildly through those who have nothing to protect and nothing to prove.
  • Make it our goal to know and love Jesus, then watch what he does in and through us.

As you wade into the refreshing truth of the more-than-enough life Jesus offers, you'll experience the joyous freedom that comes to those who are determined to discover what God can do through a soul completely in love with him.

Discover the answer to your soul-deep thirst

Too many of us have bought in to the lie that our cravings will be satisfied if we are enough and if we have enough. So we chase image, answers, things, and people - and we wonder all the while, Why am I still thirsty?

My single goal with this book is to lead your thirsty soul to the only source of lasting fulfillment: Jesus. He is the living water, a limitless supply that will not only quench your thirst but will fill you and then come pouring out of you into a thirsty world.

Because of him, you are loved. You are known. You can take a deep breath.

Because you have nothing to prove.

- Jennie

Points you back to Jesus!

A book like no other. Not what I expected. The books. You back to our Creator. Shows you small ways to do big things in your own community. Excellent read for all ages.

Not convinced

I'm not convinced that author puts into practice what she is saying in her book. While listening I could relate to Jennie as a mom so I started following her on Facebook. Her Facebook post left me feeling like she had "Everything to Prove". I'm not trying to be rude but just honest about how the book and Facebook collided.

Breath of fresh air

Jennie is transparent and genuine, sharing personal struggles while offering hope. Her ability to articulate the goodness of God and the power He has to work through us is refreshing and inspiring. As a fellow mom of four, a church planter's wife and a past that is not so beautiful, Jennie, you remind me that in all these things He is enough. Thank you for being obedient and discipling a generation.

Life changing!!!

I am that girl. I am the one who is striving and working and trying and pressing and only reaping stress anxiety and strife. I am going to need the book in print though! Thank you Jennie. I am not enough. And that's more than ok.

Robotic narrating

Overall good, if a bit repetitive. The chapter on diversity approached insulting, broad stereotypical generalities were drawn.

Did not feel drawn in by content and is slow moving

Did not relate to personal stories. Was turned off by the “I’m apologetic/sub par because I’m Caucasian” mentality in later chapters. Had to finish the book because it’s part of group bible study. The audio performance was fine, just did not care for the content.

Highly recommended!

I can't even explain how much I loved this book! Amazing, life-changing, comforting, reassuring, encouraging, genuine - the refreshing water my thirsty soul desparately needed. I especially admired how the author unveils the goodness of God by inviting the readers up close & personal into the shoes of those Jesus healed, reminding us that even the woman at the well, the blind man, the couple at the wedding, etc, were real people -- who brought with them their doubts and questions, hurts and baggage from the past, worries and unbelief....and God met each of them, wholly and completely. Each chapter showcased God's power in a new, pure and beautiful way. Love!
