Story
How can I be nearing middle age when 26 feels like yesterday? After the craziness of my 20s and hard work of my 30s, what’s next? Who am I now that youth is behind me? These were the questions Lise Carlaw and Sarah Wills asked themselves as they entered a milestone decade—their 40s. And they’re not alone. The second phase of life can seem daunting. But it’s so much more too. There is power in knowing who you are, ditching ‘nice’ for what’s important and arriving at the stage in your life when you decide rather than ‘slide’.

Story
It was a perfect Wednesday morning when Alex 'Chumpy' Pullin kissed his partner, Ellidy, goodbye to go spearfishing. Most days Ellidy would go to the beach too, but that day she didn't. Later, there was a knock at the door. A man had been found unconscious on the ocean floor. It was Chumpy. From that moment, Ellidy's world stopped. There was deep grief, disbelief and then the gradual realisation that this was real. Ellidy's partner of eight years, a World Champion snowboarder, a man of energy and music, was gone.

Story
For years Pia Miranda has been stopped in the street by calls of, 'Found you!', forever linked to that character we all loved: Josie from Looking for Alibrandi. But playing Josie is only one small part of everything that has shaped the woman Pia has become. Finding My Bella Vita is a charming, honest and uplifting memoir full of heart and humour that reminds us all of the two things that matter most - love and family. (A good cannoli and some Vegemite toast also rate pretty highly!)

Story
When former government staffer Alisha Aitken-Radburn was given a 'villain edit' on her first season of The Bachelor, she wasn't entirely surprised – there are only a handful of character tropes producers can manipulate into storylines. But the backlash on social media was unexpectedly intense, and Alisha found her sense of identity completely rocked by a single comment: 'You are a bad person'. Determined to shake the 'villain' label, she returned to reality TV screens, and this time, she got a different edit.

Like most of us, Toni Lodge tells little white lies all the time. Whether it's "I'm five minutes away" or "It must have gone to my spam folder", most of these innocent fibs are harmless. But what if you realised that you weren't just lying about the little things, but the big "life" stuff too? When Toni sat down to write this memoir, she realized that the lies she was telling herself were hiding some pretty important home truths—about her work, her identity and her mental health. In her dogged pursuit of these truths, she brazenly explores everything.

Publisher's Summary
Sean Szeps had wanted to be a mum since the age of four when he fell in love with Mrs Potts, the motherly teapot in Beauty and the Beast. But there was just one problem – he was not, in fact, a woman.
When he was swept off his feet by a handsome Australian man in New York City, Sean’s dreams of marriage and parenthood suddenly became a reality. The only things standing in his way: outdated marriage laws, hundreds of thousands of dollars and a healthy dose of internalised homophobia. Though he had to battle intense family drama, depression and a difficult move to the other side of the world, he succeeded in becoming a father to boy-girl twins.
What happens when the traditional parenting rules, 10,000 years in the making, simply don’t apply? Not Like Other Dads is a raw, rollicking memoir about gay parents raising their kids, without a map – or nap.

Such an important novel! I loved every minute of this emotional roller coaster!
Sean Szeps bares his soul and shares the struggles, joys, and triumphs of raising his twins as a gay father. The book is both heartwarming and gut-wrenching as the author recounts his journey away from and then into parenthood. He writes/reads in a witty, honest, and engaging way that drew me in and kept me hooked. This memoir is more than just a parenting journey; it is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the power of love in the face of adversity. It is a must-read for anyone in the LGBTQI+ community, or anyone interested in parenting.
I have already purchased multiple copies for friends I know that will benefit deeply from this book.
I also hope this novel helps mothers reconsider their exclusion of gay fathers in ‘mum’ typical spaces.

A vulnerable and rich story that will make you laugh and cry
I loved this story. I loved the reading by Sean which helped bring the emotion - I felt it! This is a story I hope people, regardless of sexuality m, will connect with and connect to. It brings an experience of parenting that is honest and at times raw and with that the power of showing up in a world that does not always have a solid or equal place. Thank you Sean. At times I wanted to hug you. I laughed. I cried. At times I held my breath and heard my self saying ‘oh Sean’ with a sense of care and connection. Your story will help make the world a better place. Thank you

A beautiful memoir
I absolutely loved this book, Sean has given us a beautiful story of his life and how to look at the family dynamic differently. As a cis gender female it will only help me to become a better friend and as someone who is struggling with their own infertility issues. It’s helped me to see a life where my own family may be created.

A vulnerable story of the parenting journey - a must read/listen!
Sean - I’m so glad I got the audiobook as well as the hard copy. Hearing the story directly from you made it even more special. It is raw, vulnerable, inspiring and such a privilege for us readers to have. I had the pleasure of telling you in person that hearing your story (specifically the chapter Silent Night) gave me the courage to speak to my GP about my PPD. I mean it when I say you changed my parenting journey! All new parents should listen to your book. Thank you for sharing your story with us ♥️

I was so sad to see the seconds ticking down as I could have kept listening to Sean for so much longer. He is such a fantastic story teller and his life story is so interesting. I feel like I learnt so much from it and honoured that he was so open and willing to share so much. Thank you Sean, can’t wait for the next book (I hope there is one!)
