Publisher's Summary

From the author of Wild Dogs comes an electrifying combination of outback action thriller and the classic locked room mystery.

'Did you have to kill them all?'

It's the question Gabe Ahern has been running from since he bust open a major criminal operation - and left a dozen men dead. He knows that one day the 'bad guys' will come for revenge.

A skilled dog-trapper, Gabe has one rule: leave no sign, leave no trace. And for the last year he's been successfully hiding out on a friend's remote cattle property in the Pilbara.

But when Goldmont Station opens its gates to a bunch of city folk eager for an authentic outback experience, Gabe can feel eyes on the back of his neck. Are all these visitors really tourists?

In the space of 24 hours, the station's helicopter falls from the sky...the phones and internet go down...and one of the guests turns up dead...

With major flooding suddenly cutting off all exit roads, Gabe fears he's as trapped as the dogs he hunts. And that his bloody past has finally caught up with him.

Ric has done it again.

As the author, It's starting to freak me out a little how well Ric gets inside my head. Once again he's brought my characters to life exactly as I heard them, and manages to add little nuances to each so they all stand out from one another. Love ya work, mate, well done.

An all round five star performance

I love it when you find one of those books that completely drags you in, makes you fall in love with the characters, and demands that you sit on the edge of your seat for the nail-biting moments of it. This is one of those books for me.

Gabe the all round Aussie outback man - manly but kind encased in a skin of sadness and vulnerability, knows his strengths and weakness - well how can you not love him......

Ric Herbert the perfect Narrator - just topped both books 'Wild Dogs' and No Trace' and made both experiences a brilliant must read.

Outstanding!

A superb follow up to Wild Dogs. There’s so much derivative, unoriginal ‘outback noir’ around these days but Michael Trant really knows what he’s doing. Great characters (especially the wonderful Gabe), evocative settings, gripping narrative. Also brilliantly read by Ric Herbert. Don’t miss this one!

Really Good Storytelling!

I think you are one of the major players right now in a Australian storytelling - the scene where the kid was down the hole and the flood was incoming was really something that felt real written perfectly , written memorably, while I though that gabe died in the first one and greived his loss ; he truly is the meat in the sandwich for this and wild dogs - I for one can't wait to read your next one , these are really well written with the real psychology of the environment and the people ; we love both and ride the rollercoaster and live the dream put on paper even if it is only for a moment

Has very high reviews

I like the very Australian feel to the story. Gave great insight into very remote living. It took me a very long time to get into the story. Just didn’t do it for me.
