Publisher's Summary

Once upon a time, there was a girl who dressed up and went to a big party at the palace. When she was there, she met a prince. They danced and fell in love....

Damn good line. Too bad I don’t believe a word of it anymore.

My name is Claire Montgomery, and I’m not a princess. I’m a fighter. I worked hard to earn my place on the emergency image repair team for one of the biggest public relations companies in the country. We’ve been called to the renowned Chicago headquarters of Stone Global Corporation, where it’s our job to clean up a heap of the Stone family’s filthiest laundry. Our success will be the biggest victory of my career. I’m on my game. I’m ready.

Why doesn’t ready include a contingency plan for Killian Stone?

Such charm...

This book was slow in a languid sexy sort of way, a very very good way indeed! With by far some of the best narration ever I found myself drowning in the oozing goodness of their performance. With a story so very yummy I truly enjoyed every moment. I am rather disappointed that it’s a cliffhanger as far as the HEA is concerned... but that too is okay since there is another book to sink into.

So sexy, do steamy rip roaring hot....

Worth it!

Full of secrets. Great narration

The first book in the Secrets of Stone series and it is off to a good start. If this series is not on your TBR list then I suggest that you add it. This was a fast paced book, full of secrets; a fun and quirky take on Cinderella.
From the start I was entranced by Killian Stone and I was excited to see who the woman who would capture and hold his attention would be; Claire Montgomery did not disappoint.
Claire is a member of a PR team that has been called in to clean up the image of Stone Global Corporation. She has her own secrets, ones that she is determined will not be exposed.
Claire finds herself attracted to Killian and when you throw in the fact that Killian is enthralled with Claire, complications are sure to arise. Killian too has his secrets which he is bound and determined to keep, but all is not as it seems, despite the confident persona that Killian shows the world.
No Prince Charming is smoking hot and certainly delivers on the sizzle.Told in dual POV’s it will spark your interest and keep you entertained. Both Ms.Payne and Ms. Blue obviously work well together as it was impossible to determine who wrote what.

An epic start to a series!

This was fantastic! It’s kind of a modern day fairytale about a young girl working for one of the biggest public relations company in the country. She’s working with a team that’s working with the Stone Global Corporation where she helps clean up all the unwanted rumours, and keep things as smooth was possible. It’s when she’s helping control Trey Stone and his rebellious ways that she meets Killian, his brother.

Claire? She’s a smart girl, a little skittish, a little shy in a way too, but she’s a fighter and she works her butt off for everything she has in life. She’s focused and she thought she had it all worked out, that was until Killian Stone came walking through the door and everything she’s worked hard for went out the window.

Killian? He’s a powerful CEO of his father’s company and he’s dominant and alpha as hell and when he sees something wants, he normally gets it and what he’s got his eyes on now is one of the team members that is trying to keep scandal aware from his families company.

Claire holds secrets of others, but she’s got some of her own.. and as much as she craves and wants Killian and wants to act upon these feelings, she’s reluctant but little does she know that Killian holds secrets too.

This book is full of drama, steam and even a fair bit of humour, and I absolutely loved it. Both Angel and Victoria are a duo to be reckoned with. Although I’ve only read book 1 and 8 of this series I already know it’s going to be phenomenal.

Jason Clarke never seems to disappoint me, he’s become a fast favourite of mine! At first I struggled with Devon Graces voice as Claire but over time I warmed to it!

If I could rate it more than 5 starts it would be higher!!

Story from the heart!

I have had this whole series on my shelf for the last year and CAN NOT believe I waited so long to read this book. I definitely should have read this sooner.
Victoria and Angel are one of my favorite writing Duo's of all time. When they two get together, you know they are going to write something from the heart.
Killian and Claire's story was an adult, modern-day, sexual, retelling of Cinderella and I LOVED IT! I love that cat and mouse chase, I loved that family drama, relationship drama, the secrets and the obstacles of life. Claire and Killian go together very well and I cant wait to see where there the next story takes them.

Female narrator was awful

I can barely tell you what the book was about because I was so distracted that the female narrator sounded like she was hiding in a closet reading the book aloud. I can't even finish it because I can't stand to hear her whisper anymore.

A little over the top, but a decent listen.

All in all, about 3.5 stars. Narration was great. Hard to go wrong with Jason Clarke and Devon Grace was new to me, so I was quite pleased.

The issue wasn’t so much the coupling, but I felt a bit disconnected with how the storyline was. I probably expected more of a conflict the way Claire acted. Killian was hot and dreamy, but I wasn’t a fan of the “Fairy” nickname. (That’s honestly a personal thing.) I also thought with Killian’s family, we’d get a little more drama, but that never happened.

Still a very good narration that saves an okay book.

Kept me interested.

I liked the story, however i wish there was a part 2 or something to this book, it left me wondering a lot. The book climed to the peek at the end but I wanted more.
Did her father ever divorce Margos mother or did they live happy, How did she live with Margo and Andrea... How did Clair and Killian Stone get along, did it ever get better, did Clair quit her job and went to work for Mr Stone...
Overall ithe book kept me interested, I kept wanting to know more.

Yes yes please to Jason Clarke!!!!

Jason Clarke has a sweet and tantalizing voice that makes you swoon. His narration was spot on. I liked Devon Grace too. This is an interesting series but at times I wanted Claire to speak up for herself and get a spine and out of her head. While I am looking forward to the next book in the series, its Killian that stole my heart 💕. He's all man . Look out ZW, Jason Clarke has that passion in his narrations too. Overall I liked the book and would recommend. I commend the inclusion and references of the the other Stone Brothers too. Great listen.

Excellent

This is my first book by Angel Payne and I really enjoyed it I’ve now downloaded 2nd book in this brilliant series. Both narrators were excellent.
