When forensic pathologist Lucy Trask stumbles across a mutilated body with its face so badly damaged it is unrecognisable by the chess tables in her local Baltimore park, her sole concern is that it might be her old school teacher Mr Pugh. Sound levels in audtio playback
Would you listen to No One Left to Tell again? Why?
Yes because I need to hear all the audio including the phone calls
What was one of the most memorable moments of No One Left to Tell?
phone call talkback is way too low.... bloody nearly impossible to hear.....
Would you be willing to try another one of Maxine Howe’s performances?
As long as there is no more phone calls in the plot.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
frustration that I could only hear one side of the phone calls.
Any additional comments?
not necessary.

What disappointed you about No One Left to Tell?
I found the narrator quite irritating at times in the way that she portrayed some of the characters. I only carried on because the story was good.
Would you be willing to try another one of Maxine Howe’s performances?
NO
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

The Narrator missed her calling cos this isn't it.
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
A different narrator. I stopped listening as it was amazingly overacted and the narrator emphasised the wrong word in sentences making the meaning unclear…really weird.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Maxine Howe?
Anyone. Sadly this narrator is not good at this type of work.

Great story, not so great narration....
This book is a slow burner and it did take a while to get into it didn't help with the narrator's quite irritating voice. It was the story that kept me interested but to be honest i haven't listened to it again primarily because of the narrator which is a shame.

Good Story, Ham Reading
I've enjoyed all of Karen Rose's books - an enjoyable mixture of drama, mystery and romance so my husband treated me to this one from Audible. Oh my god! I had no idea that it was possilbe to 'over act' while reading a book (and I've listened to more than my fair share over the years) but Maxine Howe certainly manages it! She even dramatises the chapter numbers! I've given up listening to it and brought the book which I am thoroughly enjoying and will be making sure that I don't listen to anything else narrated by this woman.

Boring, predictable and patronising
Though the woman reads this well (apart from not being able to identify whether she was reading male or female parts at times) I found this sorry so dull this is the first audio book I have stopped listening to half way through. The "romance" element is totally unbelievable and I find the man to the rescue approach to it so patronising and nauseating. I usually listen to these while I drive this made my journey feel much longer and more tedious.

Good story, shame about the reader
This could be an exciting story. Unfortunately, the reader makes it as dull as ditch water. She doesn't do different voices and the intonation is all wrong.
To the story, it was quite complicated and the bad performance made knowing who was speaking and about whom/what near impossible. Also there were the usual embarrassing sex scenes to listen through (or fast forward, as I did in the middle of number 2/3).
