Narrator is awful

I couldn't get passed chapter 2 because the narrator's approach is so grating. It sounds like she's reading to a room full of 5 year olds. Suggest you listen to the sample first to see if you can handle it. Such a shame it's like to be a great book!

Good story pity about the narration.

Caroline Lee’s narration is very irritating . I think her interpretation of the dialogue and her narration make all the characters sound like they are aggressive16 years olds. Eg. The inflections at the end of sentences which make them sound like questions and the shrill tones I find hard to listen to which is a shame. I don’t like or agree with her interpretation of some of the characters in the way she portrays them through her narration. I like Moriartys stories but I don’t think I’ll be listening to any more.

Disappointing

The book starts with promise - interesting characters and lots of comic moments. But the plot twist was silly and ultimately became very boring. By the 60th chapter I just wanted it to be over. I also listened to a 1.25x speed due to very slow narration.

Terrible performance

Could not listen past the second chapter. The narrator is terrible - I’ll read this one instead

Entertaing

At first I was ready to give up listening and buy the book because the narration was so slow, but it picked up a couple of chapters in. Well written, interesting characters, bizarre at times, but a good, fun story.

Really disappointed

I love Liane Moriarty and all of her books but this is honestly the first one that I really found disappointing. Just plain weird, not believable and silly. Totally not her style. The TV show is as bad.

Tough going

I really wanted to enjoy this book and persevered 2/3rds of the way through but the storyline really went too far off kilter and I didn’t want to waste anymore of my time on it. I too, found the narration irritating.

It’s unfortunate such interesting characters were wasted on such a preposterous plot

I’m frustrated that I put in the hours committing to the lives of these characters only to have the story drive itself into a ridiculous plot.

So much of the novel is wasted on the transformations.

Disappointing

What was the real story? Very odd and confusing story. Nearly stopped listening when they were locked in the room. Very disappointed actually. I have never ever written a bad review. But terrible story.. confusing. No substance at all. Great character but lead nowhere.

Nine Perfect Strangers- very disappointing

A very silly narrative made worse by most annoying narration. Very disappointing as i have enjoyed other novels by Liane Moriarty. Don’t waste your time and money.
