Could 10 days at a health resort really change you forever? Nine perfect strangers are about to find out....

The 10-day retreat at boutique health-and-wellness resort Tranquillum House promises healing and transformation. Nine stressed city dwellers are keen to drop their literal and mental baggage and absorb the blissful meditative ambience while enjoying their hot stone massages. They are all on a path to a better way of living. Or at least a better waistline....

Watching over them is the resort's director, a woman on a mission to reinvigorate these tired bodies and minds. But to what lengths will she go to achieve her goal?

These nine perfect strangers have no idea what's about to hit them.

Need to speed up vocals!

I am a fan of Liane and have listened to all Caroline Lee's narrations but this one annoyed me at first as it seemed like she was overarticulating. Changed the speed to 1.10x and it was back to her normal style- maybe Bolinda has slowed this one down by mistake? still listening to book so will rate for content later.

Narrator is awful

I couldn't get passed chapter 2 because the narrator's approach is so grating. It sounds like she's reading to a room full of 5 year olds. Suggest you listen to the sample first to see if you can handle it. Such a shame it's like to be a great book!

Good story pity about the narration.

Caroline Lee’s narration is very irritating . I think her interpretation of the dialogue and her narration make all the characters sound like they are aggressive16 years olds. Eg. The inflections at the end of sentences which make them sound like questions and the shrill tones I find hard to listen to which is a shame. I don’t like or agree with her interpretation of some of the characters in the way she portrays them through her narration. I like Moriartys stories but I don’t think I’ll be listening to any more.

Tough going

I really wanted to enjoy this book and persevered 2/3rds of the way through but the storyline really went too far off kilter and I didn’t want to waste anymore of my time on it. I too, found the narration irritating.

Narration is too slow

Ready to give up listening and buy the book. So disappointing - Caroline Lee is usually spot on but this is read too slowly

A great dissappointment

This author Llianne Moriarty is usually light for a fun read, but this book is ridiculous. Not recommended.

Not my favourite

I adore Moriarty stories but I have to say this one was a little flat. I was waiting for the story to take off but it ended up being just average.

Disappointing

The book starts with promise - interesting characters and lots of comic moments. But the plot twist was silly and ultimately became very boring. By the 60th chapter I just wanted it to be over. I also listened to a 1.25x speed due to very slow narration.

It’s unfortunate such interesting characters were wasted on such a preposterous plot

I’m frustrated that I put in the hours committing to the lives of these characters only to have the story drive itself into a ridiculous plot.

So much of the novel is wasted on the transformations.

Terrible performance

Could not listen past the second chapter. The narrator is terrible - I’ll read this one instead

Brilliant! The Best Yet

So enjoyable, full of wry humour, irony and perceptive idiosyncratic observation.
Another best seller for Liane Moriarty. Many times I laughed out loud.
Caroline Lee is the perfect narrator for this book. Nicole Kidman has already
bought the movie rights
