Plot good , though not suspenseful. Basically told us who were the culprits were early on. For those old enough, sounded like I was listening to an old style Larry Kent, Private eye novelette . Except our hero here did not get coshed on the head. Lol.

I've been reading Michael Connelly since his first book. I I love the level of research he does, the many twists and turns of his plot lines and his finely-etched characters.
I was a little disappointed with this one. It feels a little rushed and doesn't quite hold together.
I'll be interested to see how his new law enforcement character, Stillwell, unfolds over future works.
It was great to have a murder mystery set on Catalina for a change.

I had high expectations for this book because Connolly always in my experience writes interesting stuff. However, this was a story that just meandered along absent of any highs or lows. The characters weren’t all that clear and in many cases it was tricky to join the dots, then it just ended.

I have listened to most of his books now. I'm a real fan of Harry Bosch. I thought I'd try a different character but this didn't work. I'm a bit tired of the franchise I think. It's also annoying that there's always a terrible enemy and very flawed woman.

All the stories come together to make the ending just as good as the Bosch series were/still is.
Michael certainly does not disappoint.

As an avid Harry Bosch fan, I have been trying to come to terms with his eventual end and to begin to develop the same feelings towards a new main character. I have been reading Connellys novels for 25+ years and I am already falling in love with Stilwells character after this brilliant book! I cannot wait for more in Stilwells story!
