Publisher's Summary

When Charlie Porter meets Hazaar Alim her first year of university, she's instantly smitten. Hazaar has it all: beauty, talent, and brains. What she doesn't realize is that Hazaar's future has already been decided, and Charlie has no place in it.

Hazaar desperately wants to break with her traditions and stay with Charlie, but when forced to choose, she chooses her family over love. When she realizes the choice she made is the worst one possible, it's too late.

Years later, while working in Pakistan as a diplomat and negotiator, Charlie receives a phone call from a woman who says her British sister-in-law is to be killed for the family's honor and asks if someone can save her.

Charlie and Hazaar are on a collision course with destiny. If they make it out alive, can they believe in their love once again?

Bramhall is king!

If you love Melissa Brayden and Radclyffe much as I do , then you have found the perfect blend of emotion, humanity, and the ride of your life. This is an absolute MUST read. I have read everything by Bramhall and this book will stay with you as a gorgeously haunting journey of a lifetime. Anyone I have recommended this book to has become a Bramhall addict. Brace yourself for an unforgettable romance that will touch your soul, a suspense thriller worthy of Gillian Flynn, and a book you will look forward to getting up in the morning to hit play to over anything else !

Very unique book

Loved the narrator and the accents she gave the characters. This book truly came to life and I plan to listen to it again in the near future. Wonderful story and definitely worth the credit!

Amazing!

Would you listen to Nightingale again? Why?

Yes, the storyline was very well-constructed. The way the opposing timelines and settings built up to the apex of the story was brilliant. Really thrilling at many points.

What other book might you compare Nightingale to and why?

The Honor series by Radclyffe, because of the nature of the love affair and the constant pursuit despite danger of protecting said affair.

What about Zehra Jane Naqvi’s performance did you like?

She was absolutely brilliant. So glad that she was the narrator on this. The accents were flawless and she really knew where to put emphasis in order to inspire anticipation.

Who was the most memorable character of Nightingale and why?

Hazar, because of her honor. She was also brought to great life and light by the author through Charlie's eyes.

Any additional comments?

This has been one of my favorite romances in a long time. Can't wait to hear from Andrea Bramhall again. What a truly talented creator!

Riveting

This was my first time reading Andrea Bramhall’s work and wow what an introduction. It was nothing short of a masterpiece and if it were not for the almost unbearable roller coaster that this story took me I would not have wanted it to end.

WOW

How you even come up with a story line like this is beyond me. A truly amazing story with an equally amazing narrator. Would love to see a sequel.

One Incredible Ride

First of all, I never write out full reviews but I can think of no book better than Nightingale that deserves it. From the very first words, I was happily held hostage by this genuinely funny, heart-wrenchingly sad rollercoaster of a story. Seriously, I listen to many audiobooks while at work and I’ve never had to take so many “bathroom breaks” just to get my emotions under control so that my coworkers didn’t see me either grinning madly at myself or fighting back tears.

Seriously, read/listen to this book. You won’t regret it.

Andrea Bramhall is a genius with the written word and Zehra Jane Naqvi deserves an Oscar for her stellar performance. Bravo.

So Good

This book was heart wrenching and beautiful. I could not put it down and listened to it in one day. It is brutal in parts, but so good, and the narrator was perfect.

Different...

I found myself looking forward to being in the car to listen to the next couple of chapters of this book. The characters have been well written and developed throughout the story. Just the right measures of suspense, cute moments and an unusual storyline. Would quite happily listen to it again sometime. Narrator did a great job too, she moved seamlessly between the different accents (and made it believable)!

Excellent, I could not stop listening

I ended up binge listening to this gripping lesbian love story because it caught me up to the extent that I could not stop listening. The story is moving, interesting, educational to those who don't know Islam, as well as well written. The characters are believable and the plot will keep you hooked. Beautiful narration too. Thanks to both Andrea Bramhall and Zehra Jane Naqvi for an exceptionally good audiobook and Audible for a good production and I will definitely look out for more audiobooks by Andrea Bramhall.

absolutely amazing

I was not 100% sure whether this was a book I would enjoy. I have never been more wrong. This book was one of the best books I have ever read. I cannot tell much, but the emotion in it, the story and the way it was told was outstanding. Great read, cannot recommend it enough.

I couldn't finish it so...best I can say...

I wish the sample could be longer because in the sample no accent was heard. Maybe it's a cultural thing, but I couldn't get into it. I cared nothing for the character or the story being told. It bored ms, I don't know if that was because of storyline or the narrator. Sorry, not for me
