The amount of descriptive smoking, in this day and age, was way beyond what it needed to be. it seemed as if the hero was chain smoking throughout each story. why? was there sponsorship from cigarette manufacturers to insinuate themselves into every possible opportunity with full descriptives. This greatly disappointed me and affected my usual enjoyment of Stephen Leather books.
