Ever since a near-fatal car accident, Gianpaolo Vitale has lived a dangerous double life as Paul Gallo, rising up the ranks of the FBI while tipping off his father and eldest brother about FBI raids and investigations into the Vitale crime family. His dual identity is such a closely kept secret, even his twin Giancarlo has no idea he’s still alive. For a man who has been taught that family is everything, it’s a lonely, nerve-wracking existence as Paul seduces agent after agent for information and favours. However, Paul is shocked to find himself falling for his current FBI boss, York Washington, and feeling protective of York’s twin daughters—it’s extremely risky. Worse still, the war between the NY crime syndicates is at fever pitch and everyone including York and his family are in grave danger.

This mafia romance was so exciting with Gianpaolo risking exposure at every turn—by far the best in the series! Most romances are predictable but I had literally no idea whether Gianpaolo would betray his own family for York or whether York would sacrifice his career for Gianpaolo. The tensions between the triads, the Italian mafia families, and the other crime syndicates started in the last book and comes to very messy head here. It all makes for a wild and entertaining ride! 🎧 Declan Winters continues to give brilliant narrative performances in this series, he really can produce a huge variety of accents and voices!
