Incredible plot with some serious twists and turns that leave you with mouth open but be warned it ends in a huge cliff hanger having you begging for the second book.

Took me a little to get into it, but I loved the 2 main fmc. Both fierce and strong and so interesting in their own ways.
Dark and twisted and painful world I loved the story line and only got better and better. Cannot wait for the next one. This series will be soo good.

The way the 2 FMC are voiced is overly dramatic and unnatural, one sounds she is snarling every. single. word. And the other is supposed to sound, I don’t know… sensual, I guess, but instead she sounds condescending. Like I say it’s not natural speech - there needs to be variety of intonation and inflection so that the listener gets a sense of the character’s emotions, in relation to the plot. The narration is so distracting that it’s hard to keep up with the storyline - which for the most part, is one long battle scene. DNF, even though I really, really tried.

It took me a while to get into this story. I felt like there was a lot of back and forth with not really much happening. Considering it's the same world there are a lot of new rules and information that we needed to get through before the 'story' actually begun.
It felt as though they left everything for the last 10% of the book, with a lot of the information and characters we had learnt about pretty much becoming void but the time the story ended.
There are also quite a few mistakes in terms of editing for the audio book; I wish they would spend a little more time hashing out the story and audiobooks rather than rushing to push out as many books as they can.
