Not sure about why the bad reviews, I almost took notice of them and didn’t get this one. But I’m glad I did. Yes, it’s long, maybe it could be abridged and not lose anything, but it wasn’t at all monotonous. I didn’t think so anyway. This author has a protracted style. I enjoyed it.
