Endlessly Awesome

Loved the back story for Abby and learning about her surrounding characters that made her who she is.

Female assassins in space. Need I say more?

No, but I will. This is the origin story for Abigail, one of the major characters in the Renegade Star series. There’s no need to have read those to enjoy this though. JN Chaney does a great job diving into Abby’s past. It was a fun read and as usual, I’m looking forward to the next!

Great Backstory for Renegade Star main character

Having read all of the Renegade Star books, I was excited to see a pre-quil/ backstory book to come out. The story holds your attention and the performance by Tess Irondale brings the characters to life as they grow up. Perfect!

another great renagade star story

I was worried that a new narrator for the series might not keep the same feel and pace as the original but she does it great job

Sci-Fi meets Assassin Awesomeness

JN Chaney has a writing a style that makes the story come to life as you listen/read, this book being no exception. The story is truly captivating from the first chapter and leaves the reader/listener on the edge of their seat throughout.

Its easy to follow the main character, Abigail, an orphan who is shy and reliant on her outspoken friend and sister, Clementine, as they embark on a new and dangerous life together as assassins.

The characters are crafted in such a way that the reader/listener feels the fear, heart-ache, exhaustion and exhilaration with them as the story progresses.

The narrator did a wonderful job of giving each character their own voice which added even more depth to the story! Really enjoyable.

I loved this book and hope someday to read more about Abigail's adventures after starting her new life, for once being who ever she wants to be.

Avid reader turned captivated listener

Having already read the book, and newly discovering audible, it only seemed sensible to listen to books I knew I would enjoy..

Nameless is one of my favourite books written by JN Chaney in the renegade series. Abigail’s story resonates a lot with me (not entirely with context, as I’m not an assassin! But..)

My only hesitation on listening to this was a female narrator, I’m very much more drawn to male voices, but after only a couple of chapters, the narrator for this role was perfect. She captured the voices perfectly.
Also, having already read the book, I had my own visualisations of their voices, so to hear another POV was interesting.

As I started to listen to the story, I soon realised that I was hearing things that I had missed when reading it myself. I recognised references that were pure genius... I never really captured them before and I found myself applauding JN as I listened on.

As the story goes on, I found the scenes instantly popping back up in my mind, which I found listening all that much more enjoyable, I didn’t have to work hard to picture the story and I found myself being more deeply immersed.

The length of the book is just perfect too, to keep you captured for a couple of days, depending on how you listen. I gave up my nighttime reading to listen as I fell asleep, but found myself staying awake later just to listen a little while longer. Even today as I went out with my sister to do some errands, I sat in her car and turned the book on.. her kids listened along with me. Normally I would pass my time with social media but I found myself drawn to wanting to continue listening to this book.

If you’re new to JN’s universe, I thoroughly suggest reading or listening to this book. As it’s a standalone as well as a back story for one of the main characters in the renegade series. And after listening to this.. go back to the beginning, you really won’t regret it.

If you’re a fan already of JN’s, I also suggest listening to his audible books, I’m going back to the beginning of the series and buying all the audible versions, thoroughly looking forward to enjoying them all over again and hopefully noticing more things I overlooked whilst reading them.

Building on the lore of Renegade Star

I love that JN Chaney is expanding the universe with this side story and even more are coming out. Keep an eye on this guy! I enjoyed the backstory of one of the main characters of the RS universe. While we had some understanding of what Abby was all about in the main series, this is her origin story, and it's quite the ride. Tess Irondale did an excellent job portraying the two sisters and the rest of the characters introduced.

The story is filled with action and the bond between two sisters against the world, and the odds. I am looking forward to seeing the other RS stories come to audible in due time.

Absolutely fantastic!

Chaney has managed to seamlessly transition to writing from Abigail's perspective. This is one of the most anticipated books from the Renegade series because we finally get to see how Abby turned into the incredible nun assassin that she is. The story does not disappoint and is fast paced, intriguing, and full of exciting action.

The narrator does a fabulous job giving a voice to Abby. she comes across as young, but not childish, with a unique quality.

While there's a trigger warning at the beginning, the alleged abuse is very mild and tastefully done. This is absolutely a must read for everyone enthralled with the Renegade universe. I hope this series continues forever because I'll never tire of reading about it.
