Publisher's Summary

Summer. Massachusetts. An old Silver Wraith with a frightening history. A story about one serial killer and his lingering, unfinished business. Anyone could be next. We're going to Christmasland....

NOS4A2 is an old-fashioned horror novel in the best sense. Claustrophobic, gripping and terrifying, this is a story that will have you on the edge of the seat while you listen and leaving the lights on while you sleep. With the horrific tale of Charles Manx and his Silver Wraith, Joe Hill has established himself as the premiere horror and supernatural thriller writer of his generation.

Welcome to Christmasland!

This was a great book. It had the lot - imaginative story line, captivating characters, thrills, suspense and the narrator, Kate Mulgrew was absolutely incredible. She is perfect for this book and has the ability to change from creepy to compassionate in one sentence! Her Charlie Manx voice was simply hair-raising.
It also has humour - the scene where Bing Partridge (The Gasmask Man) was in the church fending off the pigeons has stayed with me and still brings a smile to my face.
The only negative I have is that it flattened out in the middle and became a chore to read some of the chapters, but it picked up again in time for the ending. Overall I enjoyed the book immensely and recommend it to anyone who likes an imaginative, thrilling storyline.

Utterly fantastic

This is a fantastic read. I tried to limit how much I listened but it was impossible. The story, like Mr Hill's other stories, kept me entranced from the beginning to the end. Excellent.

And oh my goodness, I have never been a Kate Mulgrew fan but she is a perfect narrator for this story. Her Manx voice inspired me to scare my adult children - truly perfect.

Joe Hill is certainly more than Stephen King's son, he is an awesome writer in his own right!

Great book

Very good storey. Unfortunately I wasn’t a fan of the narrator. I found her voices very off putting

A different sort of vampire

It’s a very clear horror as in you can clearly imagine the world and what is happening in it. Now that maybe amplified by Kate’s brilliant reading but it very much begins with Joe’s writing.

great story spoilt by a shrill screeching narrator

The story is perfect. Had to listen on lowest volume however as the narrator tries to do all the characters voices but it just results in a lot of screeching. please get someone else and I will buy again as the story is worth it.

Sit down and strap in.

Once again Joe Hill delivers. A thrilling and intriguing story of good verses evil. Listening to this well crafted and narrated adventure grabbed me from the start. Vic Mcqueen is troubled with the reality of knowing the danger of Charlie Manx, yet isn’t sure it’s really true. Until she has to save the day.
